3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep-gold; thick white head, but carbondioxide all knocked out on pouring. Dry nose, white candi-sugar, faint aromatic smell, remindful of grapes or sultanas, and alcohol. Sweet, malty taste, always alcoholic in character. Slightly spicey character, sweetness becomes liquorice-like. Dry, but not excessively. Lots of alcoholburn, finish is terribly sweet. It’s not bad - just the opposite of the idea ’refined’.

Esta cerveza no es lo que era. Sabor especiado y afrutado. Buen sabor. Era mucho mejor de lo que es.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cookie and bread malt (M); earthy hops (L); fresh dough yeast (L). Medium golden body with a great, creamy, white head. Yeasty! Moderately sweet flavor becomes a lightly sweet, lightly bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. The bottom line is: I quite frankly suprised by the low average here on RB. [thanks Harlequinn!]

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was wonderful, and I have been waiting for so long to try this one and it does not disappoint. Pours a grainey golden color, with aromas of honey, that match the appearace and follow through into the flavor. Effervescent mouthfeel, that toys with your tastebuds. Lots of sweet honey flavors, light fruits, apricots, peaches and pears, with light candi sugars and bubblegum. Overall this was very easy to drink and highly enjoyable. I wish I had another bottle. Thanks to CHOOS!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Well as a Belgian Strong ale it falls short, but overall it's not too bad. hazy gold with a pretty creamy, bubbly head. Sweet citrus with some spice hiding behind. Pretty smooth although the alcohol makes itself known - fairly well-balanced though. Decent.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very small head, golden amber colour. Very low carbonation, flat, smooth. Sweet, oranges and banana, citrus, grass, little cidery. Well balanced. More of an english barley wine than the "duvel" I expected.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy amber colour. Quite hoppy and unusual low sweetness for the style. Fine with me. Hints of honey, no caramel. Alcohol well hidden. Nice one.

3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is fairly light yeasty, metallic & honey. Cloudy dark orange. Quickly diminishing head with some lacing. Sweet and complex vinous flavours with some metal and the impression of fruit. Noticeable alcohol that is utterly wonderful. My bottle was quite well aged and drank at probably 12C.
