(Rating #4762)

Pretty hoppy with some pepper in there. Pours golden blond with a little sweetness. Some bitterness but nice balance. Some lacing. Sours a little after a bit. Not bad. Bottle thanks to Slovaksniper.

12oz bottle pours a clear, dark gold with some frothy, lacing, white head. Nose is really nicely balanced, sweet, honey, malt, lit and fragrant pine, orange, Meyer lemon, kumquat. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet, honey over white bread, sweet cream butter, fresh corn, hay, grass, orange, light pine. Light, crisp finish. If this were my local, I would drink the hell out of this.

Aromas of hop, grass and caramel. Medium bodied with a decent hop and malt presence. Well balanced and refreshing if unremarkable.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light citrus notes with some lightly sweet malt backbone is quiet refreshing. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt with some medium citrus notes with not much bitterness in the aftertaste. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed overall with refreshing taste profile though hops could be a bit more pronounced.

Pint at bateau de nuit. Clear pale gold pour with white head. Nice apa nose, citrusy hops, light earthy notes, crisp biscuity malts, no caramel. Taste is bitter with a nice biscuity sweetness, well balanced on the hoppy side of things. Palate is light, well carbed. Nice goto.

Clear very pale yellow ale with a mostly lasting white sheet. There you go, under the generic label lies a gem of drinkability. Straightforward, but very efficient pale honey cracker malts, the like of which most Quebec brewers seem afraid of using without a splash of crystal, leave plenty of room for the unagressive, yet sharp American hops to deploy their citrusy and gently tropical (litchi?) flavours. In mouth, the malts offer a sufficient, lean background upon which the hops thrive, leaving a lingering bitterness after each sip and procuring more resins that the nose would have led to expect. Very solid, easy drinker, helped a lot by its relative dryness and especially by its very engaging, sharp bubbled carbonation that gives it a rare crisp quality for an APA. A simple pleasure, that of a job well done.
