JensenTaster (1480), Denmark May 21, 2008 (on bottle) Dark amber, small, white head. Sweet aroma, red grapes and tobacco. Plesant, creamy mouh. Awfull label, just plain ugly. The malts hits in, with strawberries and blackcurrant, makes along with the alcohol a potent finish. Dedollewaitor (1825), Odense, Denmark Apr 28, 2008 33cl bottle. Thanks Christian. Pours amber red with a creamy lasting head & lacings. Aroma is so sweeeet - vinous, caramel, bread & dak fruits. Smooth & ok palate. A lot like Du Bocq Christmas! ChristianScheffel (2014), Odense, Denmark Apr 27, 2008 Dark amber with a lasting off-white head. Yeasty aroma, fruity, spicy and licorice. Sweet caramel malty flavour. Pour redish brown with a fine, creamy and staying beige head. Aroma is sweet and spicy with some caramel. High carbonation. Flavour is good caramel, light chocolate and well-balanced spiciness. Good balance. baggio (30), stockholm, Sweden Apr 27, 2008 When i cleaned out the fridge today i found yet another winter-seasonal that i had forgot....damn :)
Apperance: Dark red with a decent head.
Aroma: Malt, Figs, Raisin, Portwine, Spices (cardamom)
Flavor: Caramel, Dried fruit, Prunes, Spices.
Palate: Very sweet and oily with a heavy carbonation.
This was a surprise. A bit too sweet but still interesting and complex enough for a winter-seasonal. Give it a go!
