COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Julian Hard Cider recipe originates from 1670 colonial America and is comparable to the finest British ciders. Unlike many “impostor” hard ciders on the market, it is easy to have more than one pint of Julian Hard Cider as we do not use concentrated apple Juice or additives which leave the drinker with a lingering sugary film and after-taste. Why is Julian Hard Cider the choice of true cider lovers? We have only one ingredient… the freshest apples in the world! Our cider is lightly carbonated with tartness, acidity and a clean dry finish, enabling it to stand firmly on its own or compliment your favorite meal. At Julian Hard Cider, we invite EVERYONE to put our hard cider alongside the best in the world, as we painstakingly strive to build our fan base one drinker at a time.

Pours the palest of gold. This cider is fairly tart, a tad watery and had flavors of green and yellow apples.

Pour a light straw yellow with a small fizzy whit head which quickly fades to no lacing. Aroma is of apple juice, viniger, sour apples, apple skin, and. A touch of cinnamon. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma. Has a light body with a watery mouthfeel and a dry, semi sour, medium-short finish. Overall, a somewhat deccent cider.

Appearance: Pours very disturbingly clear – almost looks like water in my glass. Fizzy and spritzy with a steady stream of bubbles that form a bubbly white collar.
Nose: Fizzy – almost like seltzer water. Apple seltzer water. Very mild and unassuming.
Palate: Watery and nondescript. Very watery apple juice. Hint of bitter apple skins in the back followed by a hard salty bite that is not enjoyable.
Final Thoughts: After sampling enough to take my notes, the rest of my glass and the bottle went down the drain. Watery, nondescript, and easily forgettable. There are far better ciders out there.

On tap at Worthy Brewing Company in Bend, Oregon. Nothing mind blowing, but still good.

Draft at Scrumpy’s. Pours crystal clear, could be mistaken for water. Nose is water air and a very smal amount of apple. Taste is thin apple boring and not much flavor, could be sessions but wouldn’t want to.

Bottle from Sprout’s: Poured into my glass as a crystal clear liquid that appeared as if it were Sprite or 7-UP, and created a small development of fizzy head similar to the for mentioned sodas. In the nose, there is a noticeable presence of alcohol and a generous sweetness attributed to the apples used in this organic cider. Also, the aroma smells a lot like apple Jolly Ranchers once I took a deep whiff. The flavor is initially sweet then goes into a tangy tart and bitter taste. Mostly, the flavor is dominated with apples and the most minor taste of vinegar, perhaps apple cider vinegar? Tangy with a background of sour green apple making this a well respected apple cider and extra credit points from being from the beautiful mountains of Julian.

Bomber. Pours the color of watered down ginger ale (actually, strike that... ginger ale looks like porter by comparison). Nose is um... cidery. This is dry and unremarkable, with metallic notes at the end. I do like cider, but this is the most boring one I’ve had -- bland, uninspired and overpriced.

7/13/2011: Julian Hard Cider... Aroma: Faint apple with a touch of floral honey. Appearance: What the hell? It looks like carbonated water! Lots of bubbles clinging to the glass; barely any detectable hue of color (super, super, super pale yellow, but mostly reminds me of a frosty white); well-carbonated, big fast bubbles. Flavor: Pretty much starts out like water with a faint touch of yeasty apple in the middle; floral and Reisling notes in the finish. Palate: Super light; surprisingly not much carbonation (it all just kind of dissipates at the cider sits); soft. Overall: Wow, this is BARELY cider!

22 fl. oz. silk screened bottle (6.99% Alc. by Vol.). Rating #91 for this cider.

Pours a silverish gold with little head. Smells of apples. Taste is try. Not as sweet as most other ciders. Refreshing and better than the other more common American apple ciders

Aroma is nice with a cider vinegar, and golden delicious sweet apple. Pours unnervingly clear with decent carbonation. Taste is nice with a tart green apple, pear, and slight white wine. Clean finish. Very refreshing like a dry riesling.
