2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 666seth (222) - California, USA - JAN 20, 2003Sometimes the price is what makes an average beer a bit better than others. Compare this one for 3.99 $ a sixer to any other beer for that price...... anyway pours in amber in color with a nice head, malty/hoppy nose not too bad.

Jumping Cow Amber Ale is a wonderful looking, super clear, deep amber ale that has light, frothy, sand colored lacing. The aroma is mostly of dark malt extract and caramel. There’s a hint of grassiness. It’s medium-light bodied, gritty and metallic. It leaves the mouth and teeth feeling pretty dirty. This seems to be a focus on caramel malt and that’s the main flavor here. It’s countered with a wooden, resiny sort of bitterness. It picks up some black pepper, juniper and sweetness after the swallow. It’s a loud flavor. This kind of seems like a home brew. It seems a little rough to me. There’s something unpleasant about the bitterness. Is it soapiness? This tastes twice as strong as it is.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 shadey (1756) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 16, 2013
12oz bottle. Pours a dull amber color with minimal head. Aroma was lightly caramel and just a touch bitter. Flavors were bland and uninteresting. I’m really surprised that a California brewery allowed this to escape their bottling line. It’s not terrible, but it is far too boring.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Garbageman (354) - Lexington, South Carolina, USA - NOV 22, 2012
From bottle. Pours like an amber ale with good color. Aroma was weak with a sweet malt and earth. Taste was bland for an amber. Not enough malt, bitter with no hop aroma, not a traditional amber. Thin lite beer with too much carbonation.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 ben4321 (3003) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - NOV 18, 2012
Location: 12 oz bottle from Trader Joe’s, 11/18/12
Aroma: The nose is heavy on caramel, rather malty, and has some lighter earthy notes
Appearance: This one pours an amber color with a small beige head, and some light lace
Flavor: This one has a kind of unpleasant taste of macro-lager, caramel, and other of flavors
Palate: The body is medium, it feels a little too sticky, and almost cloying, with a pretty lively carbonation
Overall Impression:
I wasn’t a huge fan of this beer. The flavor just doesn’t work all that well in my opinion, and the quality is not really that high. Really not a winner in my opinion.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 climberbob (73) - Virginia, USA - OCT 4, 2012
12 oz bottle. It is am amber beer, and the color is right. Slightly sweet and malty with a touch of bitter hops. A bit soapy though and the hop bitterness is a bit flat.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 nearbeer (3050) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 12, 2012
12 oz. Clear copper with a lasting spongy foam. Light aroma of toasted walnut and nearly scalded vanilla toffee. Taste is the same but with a more pronounced toastiness, plus a light earthiness and sour apple touch reminiscent of English Ale yeast. Light-medium body has medium carbonation and is a well balanced, easy drinker.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Barreras (608) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Pours a copper color with a hue of red. Aroma of sweet malt with a slight hoppiness to it. Taste is a typical red but very refreshing and light on the palate. Overall a clean amber ale with a little more flavor than most amber beer. If you’re in the San Dimas area make it a priority to visit the brewing company!! Earlier Rating: 3/9/2009 Total Score: 3.5 A private label beer made specifically for the Mission Inn Hotel in Riverside California. A great tasting amber ale, extremely drinkable with mild bitterness. A copper red color with an off white head. Mild tastes of caramel and sweetness. If your ever in Riverside, California treat yourself to this wonderful amber ale.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 TURDFERGUSON (3567) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - JUN 17, 2012
Murky amber with small tan lace. Nose is sweet, grainy malt, cardboard. Malty, lightly bitter flavor. A little too much carbonation makes for a slick and strange mouthfeel. This is why I don’t buy beer at Trader Joes.
