A dark reddish brown IPA with a thin brown head. In aroma, a rather chocolatey interpretation, with nuttty notes and grassy hops. In mouth, a nice chocomalt with grassy British hops, alcohol warmth, light licorice, nice.

Bottle from the brewery. Dark mahogany-brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark coffee, hickory woodsmoke, green hops. Medium bodied, nice feel on the palate. Flavour in big and well-balanced between roasty, chocolatey malts and bitter pine-nut hops. One of the better examples I’ve had of this hard to perfect style.

Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied, Plenty of chocolate , woody rusty feel behind. Tad harsh at finish.

Spab (1645) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 5, 2013
500 ml bottle from brewery. Pours a very dark brown with average tan head. Aroma is dark roasty malts and solid, but not overwhelming hoppiness. Flavour is roasty chocolate, coffee and nuts with earthy/lightly citric hoppiness. Medium plus body. Not a hop bomb but rather nice.

500ml bottle from the brewery shared with jsprime. black, tan head. nice layered malt profile, well hoped. drinks much more like a porter then a black IPA, but very good overall. please make more of this.
