Bottle from Carrefour in Kelmis shared with McTapps. Nice one to continue a short-trip to Belgium. Aromas of hops and citrus fruits with some yeast in. Very drinkable with a bit of sweets and lemons in. A beer from a big company hitting my points - nice.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 thewolf (9882) - Kolding, DENMARK - APR 30, 2013
Bottle, bought in a kiosk close to the hotel, Brussels.
Pours clear golden with a medium, creamy, white head. Aroma has wet socks, light grass, light alcohol and maize. Medium carbonation, rather thin but still kinda oily. Flavour is quite sweet, maize. Kinda stinging alcohol. Poor.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 ruigo (277) - PORTUGAL - MAR 12, 2013
A different and good looking bottle for a rather common beer. A way of differentiate it from the crowd, but does mean that the content is as good.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 mile (2112) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 5, 2013
Bottle. Golden, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some alcohol, faint hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, some alcohol. Finish is short to average, malty and lightly sweetish, light sharp metal with some alcohol. Not very enjoyable.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Douberd (631) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 12, 2013
330 ml brown bottle, only neck label. Jupiler emblem on the body of the bottle, on the opposite side the word "Jupiler" . Poured into my Guinness pint glass. ABV 6.2%.
Yellow golden colour, with lots of activity in the glass. Big white head, soapy in texture, leaving a nice lacing behind.
Good aroma, malty, along with some adjuncts., mainly corn. Ingredients are not written on the label, but that’s what I get. Still, nothing too offensive.
Taste is sweet. Mostly malts but there is a light hoppy bite on the aftertaste, that offers some bitterness. Alcohol is not notable.
Medium on the body, average to high carbonation. Dry on the palate.
Overall not bad at all, I would prefer it over the normal Jupiler at any given chance.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 MaartenRF10 (1177) - Wageningen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 12, 2013
Clear orange golden with lasting white head, leaving a nice lace. Very pilsener like, just a bit stronger and with a bit more sweetness.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 angelkostvo (267) - CZECH REPUBLIC - JAN 25, 2013
Clear yellow liquid with two fingers head. Aroma of hay, wet bread, something sweet but not very plesant. Taste is a bit sweet and a bit bitter and a lot boring. Not my cup of tea.
0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 Steenbergen (1) - Appingedam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 30, 2012 does not count
I’m drinking this one as we speak........and i’m dissapointed. There is hardly any aroma and flavor.
This one did not make me sit back, relax and enjoy. It’s a dull and boring beer. My advice......stear clear of this one.
