2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 wimpyjoe (362) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - MAY 20, 2012
Despite being a popular mass beer of Belgium this stands up well against the stiff competition.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Marduk (358) - ESTONIA - MAY 16, 2012

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kita (112) - Koper, SLOVENIA - MAY 5, 2012
On tap, 0.5l. Clear pale golden color with mid-sized creamy white head and lively carbonation. Aroma of malt and hops, with some grainy notes and light skunkiness, too. Sweet malty start, followed by more crispy way. Mouthfeel is quite plain, while finish is dry and lightly bitter. Medium body, thin texture and average carbonation in palate. Not bad, but it can’t beat other Belgian ales...
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 kaziopiwosz (38) - Warszawa, POLAND - MAY 4, 2012
Not to good beer - a weak taste of bitterness. White foam stays for 30 seconds, colour is light-gold.
1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 tderoeck (1574) - Gent, BELGIUM - APR 26, 2012
21/IV/2012 - 25cl bottle @ who gives a F* - BB: 21/I/13 (2012-402)
Clear blond beer, small aery irregular head, little stable, adhesive. Aroma: metallic, meaty, rotten grains. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: sweet grains, sweet corn, bit sugary, slightly metallic, little bitter. Aftertaste: little bitter, metallic, lemony, still a bit sweet. Man, why do I even bother? Time to slap some sense into my fellow Belgians.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 BlackHaddock (1674) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2012
33cl Brown bottle (best before 21 Sep 2001) drank and reviewed 7 Jan 2011.
So this is Belgiums best selling beer, lets see why!
Poured into my stemmed ’Veltins’ pilsner glass.
Pale golden in colour, clear and bright. Large snowy white head on top. Looked like a lager/pilsner/etc.
Minute hop aroma with a touch of cereal grain type esters.
Fairly bland, with only a hint of hops to give it any true flavours. It isn’t sweet, nor is it bitter or sour. It does become a mouth drying lager as the beer leaves your throat, but it isn’t a hop bitterness type of dryness, more a cardboard sort of dryness.
The sort of beer you’d want to quench your thirst after some hard labour and before having something you liked!
So why is so popular with Belgians? I blame the advertising industry (and InBev or whatever their name is at the moment), plus the ignorance of some Belgians when it comes to matters about beer. I’m sure that something simular could be said about the most popular beer in your own country, no matter what country we are talking about!

Bottle form Mane Liquor. Pretty much a sweetish, grassy blonde. Nothing great here but not too bad nonetheless
