blankboy (2939), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 28, 2006 Draught shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev at Esplanade Bier Markt. Pours a clear light gold with a small white head. Very poor, mild grainy aroma with a touch of hops and honey. That aroma doesn’t bode well for the flavour. The flavour has a bland, watery, slightly sweet and grainy taste -- basically a crappy generic macro Lager. Thin bodied and almost flat. A totally useless beer, I see no reason for it to even exist.
floydian1 (153), FNQ, Australia Jul 2, 2009 Draught at a street cafe in Brussels. One of the most popular beers in Belgium from my personal observations. It is a decent enough pilsner with a light fruity malt character and a mild dry hop bitterness to the finish. Light-medium bodied and fizzy. Better than most mass produced lagers but there are so many better beers to try in Belgium. I wouldn’t waste your palate on it if you are in the country for a short time. sebletitje (1499), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 29, 2009 hallmark of mas consumed Belgian beers.
golden pour, white head.
malty aroma with notes floral hops and some sweetness.
taste, sweet malts with a light bitter hops finish.
Tatsy pale lager, for what it is, it could be a lot worse. Oakes (7618), Bamberg, Germany Jun 23, 2009 sampled from the can at the Buggenhout train station from a vending machine, the only proper way to sample a Jupiler. Pale yellow. Very grassy hop nose. Herbal and fairly dry. Fizzy mineral water stuff going on. Not bad for a swill. drpimento (674), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Jun 22, 2009 got this can at a shop across from the train station in Schaerbeek, Brussels, Belgium today. I don’t like stinky beer and this one stinks, literally, like cabbage farts. Poured with a really nice big foamy textured head and a little lace. Pale clear gold color. the aroma shows up in the flavor too, but not as bad. Still. Hard to get around that. Beershine (2268), Bamberg, Germany Jun 11, 2009 Can, train station vending machine. Clear gold and fizzy. Corny aroma but not off-putting one. Quaffable but fizzy. Nice and dry in the finish with nutty malts. Is surprisingly decent. D (509), Kraków, Poland Jun 2, 2009 Most common Belgian lager, quite nice though. Slight bitterness, no skunkiness and nasty aftertaste - good for what it is. tmc90 (11), Belgium Jun 2, 2009 Almost tasteless and not as refreshing as its main Belgian rival: Stella Artois.Very fizzy and the head is surprisingly long-lasting. Very bitter and a little acidic. roebuck (42), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 25, 2009 I found this all over the Netherlands and Belgium. It seems to be their go - to when they’re not drinking the stronger trappist ales. Pours clear and golden. Not much head. The alc content is not too strong. Probably a great one to just have with lunch or a light meal. I agree with Patrick, it was very similar to the Kolsch style found in and near Koeln.
