1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Clear gold. Yellowish, full head, very lacey. Grainy nose with DMS-cooked vegetables, chaff. Grainy again in the taste, musty, all muffled, vague flavours. Light bodied; all carbonation knocked out by pouring - flat and dead. Not even some bitterness at the end. The essence of boredom. "Men know why", the age-old, sexist commercial goes in Belgium. The other Belgian males seem to have a secret. They can st... it.

Bottle, Indonesian restaurant, Antwerp, Belgium. Fairly run of the mill golden coloured lager that was a bit sweet, not that exciting and only selected because along with Maes was the only beers available in the restaurant.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draught at Tipsy Duck Pub, Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Clear pale golden colour with white medium-size head. Weak sweet malty aroma with hints of hops. Flavour is also quite weak. Mostly some unpleasant sweetness but also some hoppy notes. A bit of a disappointment.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2010 [9/7/09] Can at my hostel in Brussels. Clear golden with a small quickly-disappearing white head. Grainy aroma with some light hoppiness and hay notes. Sweetish flavor, grainy, a bit husky, with a metallic finish with some bitterness. Light-bodied. Drinkable. Nothing offensive.

Bottle. Medium high white fluffy head. Clear thin looking light yellow body. Weak barley malt aroma. Weak barley malt flavor which is heavily carbonated and with only a little hops bitterness but not sweet. Short aftertaste. General impression: Watery.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: AUG 23, 2007 Bottle. Revoltingly cabbage-sodden aroma. Rust, paper, bile. Some biscuity malt in the aftertaste. Just about drinkable metal and corn-flavoured fizz. (Re-rate) Inoffensively doughy table beer with a sniff of grassy hops. One for the guests.
