On tap. Aroma is corn and a hint of grass, pale yellow, pours a finger of white foam, leaves some lace.Taste is mild corn, some grass too. Thin, lifeless. Uninspired.

Amazing a pilsner is as unremarkable in Beligium as it is in the states. . .perhaps this style of beer just isn’t for me.

A yellow beer with next to no head - and a boring aroma as weel as flavor. Just another boring lager.

Can, from machine on platform at Ostend train station. At the time this proved a step too far for an already inebriated Brit, just off the ferry. This is very standard, aiming to be refreshing but not even having a particularly clean taste. Obviously the can contributed to the metal flavours, but I couldn't help feeling, even in my state, that this was a little disappointing - weak, soft and watery. (Aroma and appearance scores based on subsequent tastings).

Draught shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev at Esplanade Bier Markt. Pours a clear light gold with a small white head. Very poor, mild grainy aroma with a touch of hops and honey. That aroma doesn’t bode well for the flavour. The flavour has a bland, watery, slightly sweet and grainy taste -- basically a crappy generic macro Lager. Thin bodied and almost flat. A totally useless beer, I see no reason for it to even exist.

Courtesy of Yespr. Golden with an OK head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt and hints of cooked cabbage. The flavour has sweetness, notes of malt, light citrus and a slightly dry and very light bitterness. It’s very boring.

This is one of the two most popular beers in Belgium. It has no taste to speak of, comes in ugly containers, and tapping and temperature make no improvement. The good news is that Belgium has hundreds of other beers to choose from--even a decent lager or two (try Primus!).

Clear gold with a good head. Quite strong aroma for a pilsner, somewhat bad hoppy. Boring watery taste, but some unpleasant bitterness.
