750mL bottle. Labeled "Gosnold’s Hope: 1602 Style Porter" purchased at the brewery - Westport, MA. Aroma has a nice roasty dark porter edge and a slight hint of acid. Pours black-brown. Flavors are mild, but solid. Gentle porter chocolate roast, burnt bits, and a gentle, soft mild lactic acidity. Very suave. I really enjoy the level of funk in this porter, it’s just the right amount to notice, but not too overbearing. Balanced. Very nice!

750 ml corked bottle. Labeled "Gosnold’s Hope: 1602 Style Porter", Just Beer (post Buzzard’s Bay version). Pours out jet black with a thin coffee colored head. Aroma is very malty and roasty. The flavor is quite interesting - unlike any other porter I’ve tried - starts out rich and malty but it has a surprising tartness on the backside, like tart cherries.
