COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s a blend of American grown pale and wheat malts and hopped with 2009 Segal Ranch Galinas and Cascades in the kettle and then run through our hop-back with whole leaf 2009 season Cascades from Segal Ranch. We’re looking to capture the refreshing citrus flavor and aroma of American hops in a deliciously zippy unfiltered golden.

In short: A extra-crisp pale ale with tangerines, wheat and other light refreshing flavors
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed fresh two days after purchase
The look: Almost clear golden blonde topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is bright and crisp with tangerines and refreshing fruits. Taste is very crisp. Crisp wheat, crackers, tangerines, citrus fruits, clementines, a touch of honey and caramel to tie everything together. Not much bitterness. Very juicy and ultra-refreshing. Probably only good when ultra-fresh, but my bottle was ultra-fresh, and it was very good. Very nice refreshing summer brew that will probably not get much love here where only very bitter IPAs get recognition. I recommend this beer. We need to keep drinking American Pale Ale otherwise the terrorists have won.

Light golden colored ale. More of a true golden ale than an APA. Well balanced with the hops and malts. Finish is slightly sticky, but overall this is quite drinkable.

Light golden color. Aroma is pretty simple, just hops and malts come forward. Flavor is a little more complex. I can taste malts, bread, hops, and a little lactic. Has a nice and crisp malt finish. Good one for the summer.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2012 22oz Bottle. Oh, the Golden Flounder, how I love your taste, your drinkability, and your price. This is an odd hybrid style that falls somewhere between Golden Ale and American Pale Ale. Aroma is bright and fresh, with crisp, clean golden malts and a warm, glowing juicy hop edge. Pours in a well-wheat hazed beaming yellow, with lots of tall white head. Flavors are fresh. It’s like a super-fresh, pilsner based Belgian ale, without the Belgian yeast. Bready, crackery, bright and full of minerals. Hops come in for about 30 IBUs worth of balance, nuance, and complexity. Incredibly drinkable and super-fresh. Maybe a take on Sparkling ale, or like the English-American version of Dupont Avril. Whatever it is, it’s fucking delicious and it was less than $2 a bomber at the brewery (holy shit)!
