Beer Guy99 (250), Maineville, Ohio, USA Mar 11, 2005 Here’s proof that an outstanding American Pale Ale can be had for a fair and affordable price.
Amber color with an off-white head is inviting. The aroma of fresh hops greets the nose giving an indication of good things to come. The flavor does not disappoint. This is a full-bodied pale ale that will impress the most serious hop heads if they’re being honest with themselves.
This ale definitely skews to the hoppy side as an APA should but there is a firm, malty body to give a well rounded experience.
I’ve seen this priced below $5.99 a six-pack and it’s easily as good or better than beers costing almost twice as much.
I get the impression that the sales and marketing guys let the Brewmaster do what he wanted with this one. High Falls is to be commended! I’ll bet this will give Saranac Pale some competition. Both are excellent and fairly priced.
toddkrem (66), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Aug 21, 2008 Pours a little darker than most apa’s. Light with some hoppiness. Came with the Craft Pack. Not a bad beer. phishpond417 (1360), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Aug 20, 2008 Pours a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is sorta bland- grain, soft hops and perhaps a little pepper on the nose. Taste is light, clean and refreshing but i expect more in an APA. BeerGestapo (297), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2008 (USA) Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo !! The color is a lite amber with a nice foamy white head. The aroma is of citrus, hops, and grass . The taste is dreadful. Where is the hops? And It’s kind of weak too. I think they need to work on this one. hopson (469), Williamsville, New York, USA Aug 15, 2008 bottle from sampler- enjoyable and full of a nice drinkable bite- I liked this pale ale. Surely not the best example, but good none the less. mwelsh13 (124), Maryland, USA Aug 13, 2008 12 oz bottle poured light copper and brown. Grassy hop aroma. Nice hop bitterness to malt. Nothing fancy pale ale, but acceptable.
