Ethereal (869), London, Greater London, England Jul 12, 2008 Bottle, at home with renffisch, 25th June 2008. Yellow gold with a small head. Poor aroma - a bit of corn, a bit of hops, some honey. Not that hoppy in the mouth, it’s a failure as an IPA. Ok weight, but the flavour doesnt hang around. Poor.
phishpond417 (1360), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Aug 20, 2008 Pours a dark, clear copper colour with a full white head. Great lacing that is evident throughout the beer. However for an IPA- extremely mild, more of an APA. Grapefruit and lemon the nose. Taste is soft citrus fruit and carmel. JasonG (629), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Aug 18, 2008 12 oz bottle labeled as "Dundee India Pale Ale" - I think that it is this same beer. Even though it does not say "JW" on it, it is from Dundee Brewing comapny in Rochester NY. Pours a clear light amber color with small off white head. Aroma has a fair amount of chewy malts, light caramel, touch of herbal hops. Flavor is malty, light notes of herbal hops, honey, pear, apricot, with a fairly dry, mildly bitter finish. Overall it’s a decent english style IPA, IMO. Although by description it has american hops, they certaintly don’t come across very agressively. BeerGestapo (297), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2008 (USA) Courtesy of AFI96 thanks Waylo. Pours a lite amber color with a dissipating white head. The aroma is grassy with some hoppy notes. The taste is of grains, citrus and hops. The mouthfeel has a slight bitter finish but overall not bad.
hopson (469), Williamsville, New York, USA Aug 15, 2008 not bad at all. from the sampler pack. nice sharp bitterness, citrusy, and drinkable. Highly recommended over other large scale craft ipas- see the increasingly disappointing magic hat. mwelsh13 (124), Maryland, USA Aug 13, 2008 Grassy and herbal hop aroma. Sweet, honey like malt profile. Decent IPA.
