yarry (349), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Jan 2, 2008 12 oz bottle, 6.2% a/v
Pours a light gold colour, average of most macros but with a noiticeably denser and more attractive head. The beer gives off scents of malt and grass mainly with the taste being a bit tangy as has been said, not overly bitter, a bit metallic and alcoholic. Very average really.
Imaena (175), Portland, Maine, USA Jul 25, 2008 Bottle Janie 08’. Not good. Mashed in bitterness. Not enough body for a boch. To much in the way hops and not enough sweet soft malts. Stylistically poor.
Homebrewerguy (232), Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 25, 2008 from their new craft pack simply called Dundees: Poured golden clear and heady, aroma was slightly malty, flavor was fairly malty with a hop clinging bitterness that lasted the whole beer, nasty bitter aftertaste, recipe needs reworked Sparky27 (430), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear amber with two finger white head and nice lacing. Nose is caramel malt and grass. Taste is sweet malt, some spice and a slightly bitter finish. Medium mouth feel. afireinside96 (348), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 22, 2008 12oz bottle served in a shaker glass. Amber color with a dissipating white head. Smells of honey, green apple, and corn. Taste is honey and husky wet grains. Has a harsh unpleasant bitterness. Drinkable but just barely. yesyouam (318), Fairport, New York, USA Jul 22, 2008 JW Dundee’s Pale Bock is a clear, very sparkling, light amber beer with a small white head that soon fades. The aroma is of pale malt extract, grass, hay and some sweet corn. It’s just on the light side of medium bodied. It has a smooth mouth feel with a crisp, delicate finish. It starts a bit sweet, turns almost salty, then it’s peppery. It’s not very bitter and tastes a bit chemicalish. There is a flash of some tropical fruit or bubblegum, which is a little odd. The aftertaste is boozy. Not too bad.
