ansermadide (190), Kyle, Texas, USA Jul 5, 2008 (12oz bottle from sampler 12 at home on July 5, 2008) Pours a light, almost watery, amber color. Frothy, bubbly white head. Slow, steady carbonation. Aroma is that of a standard bock… taste is a little bitter (not the good kind) and sweet. Soapy aftertaste. All-around flavor is very macro, even tastes like I’m drinking it straight from a can (I assure you this is a pint glass, unless this is some surreal dream)... very metallic. This would probably taste much better when drinking straight out of the bottle while hanging out in front of the barbecue pit... so your nose and tongue are consumed with other hefty scents to mask this beer’s inadequacies.
mcjay (31), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Sep 3, 2008 Golden color with an average white head. Light hoppy aroma with a smooth, slightly malty taste. Not very pale, not really a bock. Kind of just a slightly above average lager. scottw86 (103), New York, USA Sep 2, 2008 Poured a clear orange/golden body with a medium white head. Aroma was a little nutty with some floral hops. Pale malts with floral hops in the taste. Finish was not crisp like I expected. It seemed to linger on longer than it should have. Overall not the best representation of the style. Ritterkreuz (169), Seneca Falls, New York, USA Sep 2, 2008 Nothing great, but not bad either. Very watery, mild hopes in the flavor and aroma. ChainGangGuy (1536), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, golden body with a full inch of white head. Respectable lacing on the way down.
Smell: Sweetish pale malt aroma with a scent of floral hops.
Taste: Pale maltiness with a cereal sweetness. Floral, lightly spicy hop character with a brief, discreet level of bitterness, leaving the beer to finish as sweetish as it started.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Well, it’s okay, though it lacks the depth of character to continue my interest beyond the single 12 oz. bottle. DerBiermeister (374), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Aug 31, 2008 This is the most watery, weakest "Bock" beer I’ve ever had. Big disappointment. Also, this beer appears to be the same very beer with a different label, which was confusing and might cause someone to buy a beer thinking it’s new. The one I have has a goat on it and says Dundee Pale Bock Lager. Check this site to see: http://dundeebeer.com/ales_and_lagers/pale_bock/
