On cask at Cloisters. Pours a golden colour with a fair beige head. Aroma of barley, lime and oats. Oaty flavour also with lime, caramel and a Weetabix malt character. Quite thin. Not my thing.

Balanced, regular bitter on cask, would be ok on a session, ok but not memorable

Decent bitter, balanced herbal, slightly resiny bitterness throughout and quite a sweet, syrupy background easy drinking and decent.

Some pub down a ginnel in Chester. Honey amber, milky collar and lace. Hay and biscuits aroma, same flava with honey and a caramel/malted milk and paper linger. Soft and pleasant.

A Mes rate. Cask at Sam’s in Manchester.
Clean amber gold with a decent white head and plenty of lace. Faintly sour, but I’d put that more down to the poor quality of this pub than the beer. Malt up front, dull fruity notes and a tangy finish. Boring.

Cask @ National Winter Ales Festival 2009. An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and honey. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, honey, and caramel, leading to a dry, bitter finish where also the honey lingers. The body is no wonder light.

Pale brown colour. Smooth, creamy texture. Hint of oak then apple pips. A little malt sweetness too.

Light amber with a small white head. Grainy malt aroma with herbal hops. Sweet malty flavour with grassy hops and a good bitter finish.
