3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DanielBrown (2722) - Birmingham (via Leicester), - JUL 5, 2010
Bottle from Rai Wines, Harborne. Rather dull ale, which I suspected was a Mild (and is). Brown bready body. Crunchy fizz, which deactivates my tongue. Ruby brown colouring. OK, but definitely lacking on the old flavour front.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 17, 2012
Brown 500ml bottle, best before 20 Oct 2010, drank some two weeks before then: poured into a straight UK pint glass (Everards Tiger badged).
This is a proper English Dark Mild in every sense.
Dark ruby red colour, although unless held up to the light it appears darker. A good deep tan coloured head sat on top, the head giving some good lacing.
The aroma is malts all the way, as is the taste, rich but not sickly, hints of chocolate and esters of liquorice help to make sure the flavours stay interesting, even though it is only 3.5% ABV.
Easy to drink and well worth trying.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 worldbeertaste (628) - Lancashire, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2012
Dark brown with a red tint. Looks black. Creamy thick tan lasting head. Smells of roasted malt, chocolate and hazelnut. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. Sweet chocolate start, watery middle a bitter coffee roast finish. Slight chemical sodapop (coke) on the finish. Not bad but has many flaws.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Leighton (4100) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2012
Bottle in the hotel room, Aberdeen. Pours clear, cola brown with a weak, fizzy head. Some lightly toasted cocoa maltiness in the aroma. Flavor is lightly sweet, with mellow cocoa and hints of coffee. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Clean finish, lightly sweet, with a bit more cocoa and faint earth. Not bad.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20 will1 (140) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2012
Bottled and labelled at 2.8%. Dark and slightly reddish with a good tan head. A little more carbonated and thin in body than my tastes but dark leathery aroma reminiscent of rye bread make this satisfying and one Id choose again if a low alcohol mild is needed.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 weaselkenievil (1093) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2012
Wasn’t expecting much but I quite enjoyed this. Poured a dark brown colour with a tasty looking light tan head. Dark malts, dark fruits, bit of wood, light hint of tobacco. Nice mouthfeel, easy to drink, not bad at all. A pleasant surprise. Don’t know much about mild but necked this quite easily. Not bad.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ober (2260) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - DEC 8, 2011
A clear brown/black colored beer, with a thick white head. The aroma of dark fruits and dark malt. The taste of dark malt. There is some sweet moving too bitter. At all is watery. The aftertaste some roasted bitter.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 flying_pig (344) - SCOTLAND - SEP 6, 2011
Bottle (500ml):
When held to the light turns out to be a dark, deep mahogany colour with a brownish-white bubbly head.
Some dark roasted malts & coffee on the nose which are backed up with a sort of fruity malt type smell. Along with this there is a smell of bread and hints of liquorice.
Sweet roasted malts that match the nose make up the initial taste of this mild ale & this is followed hints of liquorice too but not a lot else after this other than a sort of fizz water taste.
Medium bodied with slightly more carbonation than I would have liked from this one. It is slightly chewy & has a fair amount of fizz.
This one seemed to be lacking in every area without actually being bad in any either. Bland & average really; not one that I can recommend.

Quite a watery beer but then again its very drinkable. Malty and fruity, dry-ish aftertaste. For a quid a bottle from Morrisons it was good, I’ve paid double for bottles and had worse.
