I described the cask version as ’depressing’. I wonder why I bothered with this bottle. Beer is reddish and coppery. Aroma is malty, but not the wonderful rounded grainy malt I love so: this is something vegetal and... like shoe polish. Taste is sour, fizzy and generally gruesome. Even the bitterness is unwelcoming. Perhaps I was just in a bad mood today. Biorhythms or something?

Bottle from Waitrose. Dark amber, cloudy with a thin off white head. Getting an aroma of hops and malt with some treacle. It has a nice hint of treacle but a bit watery.
