Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton. A golden beer with a white heaad and lacing. Light lemony hop and biscuity malt in the nose. Light hops and rubber in the mouth. A bit of fart. Good bits, bad bits.

Cask at the Cross Keys, JDW. Clear gold pour with a foamy, white head. Slight toast aroma, some crispy malts and dough. Lightly sweet flavor, very doughy, some light wood. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, woody, some toast, faint citrus and grass, light sugar. Decent.

Handpull at JDW MK, nice looking head, decent looking dark amber color. Smell is not much, some caramel and toast I suppose. Taste is not impressive, almost apply and I can’t get past the oxidation. I think this is in very bad condition, which is confirmed by the fact that it is no longer available as I finish the pint. I think it had potential to be an average bitter, nothing special, and certainly didn’t get any "spicy" hops.

Cask @ Montagu Pyke (JDW). Pours a hazy amber, with a medium white head. Light toffee, caramel, slight lychee, grapefruit, lemon and lime. Dissapointed in the finish, as it had no real solid end.

Cask - The Bell Hotel (JDW), Norwich. Small creamy-bubbly & lasting white head, soapy lace, slight haze on a copper body. Caramel & some mid fruit aromas. Some biscuit on the tongue and more mid fruit. Bland & watery from the mid palate onwards. Almost no bitterness except for a delicate toastiness right at the end that’s barely noticeable.

Hand pulled at Wetherspoons (under Central Library) Birmingham. Dark gold with a white, firm head. A fuzzy malt affair. Soft of palate, tedious of swig. Fairly standard UK bitterness, with some lager notes on the finish. Not great. What a rubbish night.

Copper coloured bitter. Smooth and creamy texture. Flavour is very mild and bland despite the 4.5% alcohol.
