COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first brew from the 2008 harvest of barley and hops. To celebrate the occasion, we selected only the very finest malted barley and the choicest East Kent Goldings hops.
Harvest Ale is brewed by traditional methods in open copper fermenting vessels to a very high original gravity, and fermented with our excellent Cervisiae yeast to produce a very special ale.

Harvest Ale is then stored to impart excellent keeping qualities and to ensure that it will mature and improve with age. The result is an excellent full bodied beer that can be enjoyed by itself or as an accompaniment to a meal.

VINTAGE LIMITED EDITION. 1ST DECEMBER 2008.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy copper with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is dark fruit, caramel, booze. Medium mouth, candy sugar, spice, figs, boozy finish, very good, held up well.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter. Aroma is of honey and cooked apples and raisens. Appearance is a nice clear honey gold color with a very small presence of an off white head that disappears very rapidly. Taste is of honey caramel buttery cooked raisens with a very slight earthy bitter finish. Palate is very smooth woth nice viscosity and slight carbonation. Drinks like a sherry or cognac. Overall this beer n 2015 has aged well and is much better 7 years old than when I originally had this in 2012. If you can find a bottle give it a whirl. Because of it’s age you could run into a bad bottle here and there. Mine was superb. BTW it pairs very well with a horseradish cheddar cheese. Also serve at room temp. Cheers!

Poured from a bottle purchased a few years back into a snifter the color of caramel with a thin white head. Aroma says sticky sweetness. Flavor is flippin’ insanely sugared raisins slightly burnt. Carbonated. Feels smooth to the tongue. An excellent dessert brew paired with havarti. Going to savor this brew. Blessed to have another one stowed away to share with others down the road.

Oh my word! This thing is nice! Pours a murky burnt caramel mahogany color with some floaties and leaves a quick tiny off white wispy head that leaves an even thinner collar. Smells of musty old, yet sweet sugary burnt caramel and oak, so sweet and delicious. Taste is sweet sugary brown licorice caramel bitter chocolate and soft spice, oh so delicious! Palate is full sticky slick and coating. This thing is spectacular! Some may say, a sticky mess... I say aged to near perfection!!!

275ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Clear dark copper color. Tiny to almost no head. Sweet, raisins, woody, caramel candy in aroma. Hand made Belgian truffle chocolate with hazelnut inside is the first sip. Sweet, dusty, roast, caramel, bit woody, mild hops in taste. Burnt brown sugar and touch of hazelnuts in aftertaste. Alcohol is very well hidden. Nice bittering hops. Sips of pure nectar! Fantastic!

275ml bottle (Bacchanalia, Cambridge)
Glorious raisiny aroma, just a little dusty too. Deep orange, brief head. Pour carefully, there are horrors at the bottom of the bottle. Taste starts very sweet, quite sugary. Of course, that gives it a very smooth palate, verging towards slick. Raisins and slightly liqueury body. Burnt toasty finish, some butteriness. Dusty cocoa-coated truffle too. Later, as it builds up, there are some nice bitter hops too - quite a bite. My glass has the sinky horrors in, and was a little bit dirtier but the quirks that gave weren’t unpleasant. For a great barleywine, a little sub-par, to be honest, but still bloody good.

2008 bottle in 2009: This is not how it’s meant to be enjoyed, but I had to open a bottle and try. Aroma is fruity and malty with some green apple. Very sweet and rich malty flavour, a fabulous toasty crisp malt flavour. Definitely have to buy a few and save for a rainy year...

Check this tasting, Odense 2015. Hazy amber with a tiny white head. Complex malty aroma with toffee, rye bread and nuts, with dried fruits and vineous alcohol notes of port and sherry. Sweet, malty flavour with lots of dried fruit and fortified wine. A little dusty cellar note
