COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first brew from the 2008 harvest of barley and hops. To celebrate the occasion, we selected only the very finest malted barley and the choicest East Kent Goldings hops.
Harvest Ale is brewed by traditional methods in open copper fermenting vessels to a very high original gravity, and fermented with our excellent Cervisiae yeast to produce a very special ale.

Harvest Ale is then stored to impart excellent keeping qualities and to ensure that it will mature and improve with age. The result is an excellent full bodied beer that can be enjoyed by itself or as an accompaniment to a meal.

VINTAGE LIMITED EDITION. 1ST DECEMBER 2008.

Bottle 27,5 cl. Cloudy opaque murky brown with an off-white head. Oxidized sherry aroma, quite some rustic wood. Thick, sticky sweet caramel, coffee and nuts – honey even. Warming alcohol finish. Your typical old British barley wine. 230213

It pours a muddy brown color, with no head, and with too much sediment. Aroma of malt, caramel, dust, soil, vegetables, some oxidization. Sweet flavor, some malt, but also too much dust and earth, and some coffee or ashes; low bitterness, with some nuts in the end.
Really weird, unrecognizable Harvest Ale.

275mL thanks to Travlr. Pours a clear deep amber. No head. Flat. Nose is very intense candied orange, big orange Brandy, maple syrup. Taste is typical cigarette ash, toffee, sticky candies, skunky herbal hops. It is an acquired taste but quite the oddity.
