Aroma- barley, apple pie, cinnamon, earth, green apple, honey. Flavor- difficult to nail down; like a malty brew and apple brandy got into some furious mating and spawned this; dates, apple, honey, sherry, old wood. Very complex. Woody, bittersweet lingering finish. Pretty awesome. v.2006

Like the straight Harvest Ale but less nutty but more like cashews. Sappier too. Better? No carbonation to speak of. Glorious.

"definitely a dessert beer. super sweet and boozy aroma. body is rich, thick, and very smooth. taste also very sweet, with a touch of bitterness. hides the alcohol better than the aroma. more like a sherry or even a port than a traditional beer."

A vibrant mahogany body glows with bright amber highlights

Rich layers of toasted marshmallow, maple syrup, moist dates, and caramel are illuminated by silky fruity tones of green apples and apple cider which build mid palate, the finish introduces nuts and cinnamon rolls on a silky, coating medium plus body featuring drying, peppery peat and oak tannins gaining traction through the residual, which also offers whipped marshmallow and honey drizzled green melon, along with apple pie and coffee cake

2008 vintage bottle to snifter glass. Muddy amber tan color with white head dissipates quickly. Boozey raisin aroma with cinnamon prune and nutmeg. Taste is boozey sweet crabapple with wood and prune raisin. The wood adds a lot of spice notes like cinnamon nutmeg vanillin. Very thick body and very sweet. It leaves a jammy texture on the mouth for a while. Very complex and worth taking your time with it. Good cold night sipper.

Bottle at home, in a run of three with the sherry and whiskey versions, from Beer Emporium, Sandbach. Murky red brown amber with a thin off white yellowed head. Aroma has some sweet malts, toffee apple, sugar, brandy. Flavour is caramel and more toffee apple, brandy. Surprisingly smooth palate. Sweet. A little woody.
