COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Only available filtered and pasteurised in bottles.
Matured in wooden casks of Lagavulin Malt Whiskey, one of the most distinctive malt whisky from the island of Islay, characterized by the strong peaty notes which should blend with the Harvest Ale to give an explosion of flavors.
This fully fermented ale has been brewed by JW Lees as a celebration of the brewers’ art. Harvest Ale can be enjoyed now or laid down like a fine wine for enjoyment to come.

By far the most complex of the different barrel aged versions of this beer I’ve had. Smoke really cuts and complicates the already sweet and complex flavor of the standard. Tons of charred fruit , tar, huge Islay presence. Crazy. v.2008

Bottle shared with awesome guy jheath99. Pours cloudy amber with small white head. Aroma of peat, caramel and booze. Tastes pretty much the same. Expensive bottle but worth the price.

Bottle to tulip (2005) Aroma of peat, oak, almonds, caramel, fig, maple sugar. Pinkish red brown, with no head and some particulates. Sweet, malty, and peaty, but no real strong scotch flavour.

Bottle - Vintage 2005 - Big rich malts, cereal and big oak notes. Cloudy brown with no head. Lots of apple sweetness, tons of oak and a long sweetness. The scotch doesn’t show up at all, although I do get barrel notes. Nice, but not the beer I was expecting.

Bottle sample at Yael and Nimrod’s. Thanks Nimrod. 2011 bottle. Clear amber and almost headless. Peaty aroma - delicate. Some green and then a little sweetness in the nose. Bitter taste with apparent sweetness and peat in the mouth. Smooth, round mouthfeel, full-bodied, no carbonation, honey finish.

Pours a murky dull amber with a short-lived khaki head. Big whiskey nose. Smooth, heavy mouthfeel. Very well-blended caramel apple, smoke, and whiskey.

Ambrée. Léger collet blanc. Nez: fumé. Salin. Boisé. Malt tourbé. Bouche: très sucré. Énormément boisé. Lagavulin à fond. Salin. Vanille. Caramel au beurre salé. Absolument sublime.

275ml bottle from Craig, cheers for keeping ahold of! Pours murky pale brown, no head. Aromas of whisky and wood, some sweetness. Taste is whisky and cardboard. Sweet finish.

Pale auburn and headless, a bit oddly cloudy. Dank, wee bit carboardy is a bit more of a distinction between the sweetness of the beer and the ageing - showcasing how actually impressive the others had held up. e. Vibrant iondine. A bit more raking on still an excellent mouthfeel. Almost minty/cooling from the burn of the booze both from the ageing and the ABV.

Bottle, Cheers CAGarvieUK, 2006 bottle.
