3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2006, Ramsgate. Ruby colour with thin beige head. Vinous on aroma and in mouth. Good fruit. Very syrupy in mouth with a bit of alcohol heat. Very malty, thick and syrupy. Not sure that I could drink a lot of this. Fruity on end of the dark syrupy type, some jamminess.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at Guildford, Edinburgh. Reddish Brown. Aroma of fruit, caramel, malt, alcohol. Thick mouthfeel, a little sweet. Too much alcohol in the flavour for my taste.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled from cask (gravity dispense) at 6th Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival 2005.
Slightly hazy dark amber colored with a thin tan head. Weak aroma with some syrupy malt notes and fruity hints. Dry and oily in the flavor and quite rancid. Malt and caramel and herby notes. Strange and not very good.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Straight from the cask as the Chesterfield Beer Festival on 04/02/05.
Very dark brown colour.
Really malty, rich & full flavoured. A bit thick on the palate though. Pretty solid/standard stuff...

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask@The white Horse, Parsons Green, London. Big whiff of raw alcohol in the aroma, couldn’t really smell much more excpet for a slight roasted malt character. Flavour is quite rich, yet surprisingly dry, which i put down the the alcohol, very warming as it slips down your throat. Slight hints of roast and dark fruit, and also some slightly raw malt flavours. Lots of warming alcohol though, too much for me.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask conditioned - handpump - White Horse - Parsons Green London SW6. A very dark brown beer with a sweetish oily aroma. The taste is on the sweet side with lots of alcohol and some caramel. It is warming, vinuous and oily. I liked this and have done on other occasions.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hand pulled at the White Horse, Parsons Green, London (as part of their Old Ale festival), with Joeh and Maeib. Dark black, no head. Rich berry aroma. Warm, smooth, very sweet on the finish, but lacks a hard edge and felt sloppy. Some berries and sludge. Certainly not the best of the festival.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured deep brown with a red tint when held to light. Lacked aroma, just light malts. Sweet chocolate flavour starts with a light roast finish. Warming feeling from alcohol present. Smooth, though suprisingly thin. Not bad.
