Cask at The Market Porter, Borough, 17/12/07. Dark amber colour. Aroma and flavour of fresh plums (not plum pudding in fact). Decent finish. A nice beer if you like them fruity!

Cask, the Francis newton. Apricot aroma, bitter with a semi sweet background. Primed on the finish.

Cask (Giddy Bridge JDW, Southampton) - Copper coloured. Fruity aroma with plum, blueberry and dried fruit. Fruity and sweet taste with plum, blueberry and some buttery notes.

Cask @ Henglers Circus. Amber colour, foamy off-white head. Aroma is fruity and malty. Flavour is fruity, juicy followed by biscuit. Slightly bitter and sweet finish. Not very well done.

Cask Conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton. A hazy chestnut coloured beer with an off-white head. A great fruity beer with real plumy fruit flavours and aromas. Lovely depth and a rea lfestive feel to this. It will be too sweet and fruity for some but I real enjoyed it.

Cask - The Bell Hotel (JDW), Norwich. Creamy, lasting beige head & a clear, dark ruddy amber body. Dominant sweet plummy aroma. Same again on the tongue with some bready, caramel maltiness. Not OTT like I expected, quite restrained fruitiness finishing with an OK hoppiness, though remains mainly fruity. Light to medium body & carbonation.

Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley. Copper with a dense cream head; fruity aroma; fruity flavour with plum and orange to the fore; sweet malty finish with a touch of light bitterness. Not bad.

Cask at the Central Bar, JDW. Rich, semi-clear garnet pour with a slight, off-white head. Malty, fruity aroma with ripe plums and bread. Very sweet, juicy flavor, reminiscent of Juicy Juice, mixed berry. Some notes of plum and black raspberry, along with mild licorice and some faint, citrusy bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. The finish is sweet and still juicy, with strong breadiness coming through. Light, herbal hops linger in the throat with subtle hints of plastic. Maybe a touch artificial, but overall not that bad.

Cask at some pub in Chorlton, Spread Eagle perhaps? Anyway, dark gold / amber slight plum tinge (or am I imagining that? I was a bit away with a mixer when I rated this) decent off white head. Obvious plum but avoids being some daft fruit beer. Nice bitterness. Really enjoyed this as I was expecting rubbish. I mean JW Lees do some stonking beers, it’s the whole fruit thing I don’t like. And the guy below who said ’the worst brewer in Manchester’, have the harvest ale. Light years in front of anything Hydes have ever brewed.

Cask (handpump) @ The Moon Under Water, 28 Leicester Square, Greater London, England WC2H 7LE.
Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, flowers, perfume, moderate to light heavy fruity, plum. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081229]
