Cask, The Last Plantagenent, Leicester. Golden with a dirty white head. Aromas are light, sweet caramel malts, soapy and thin. Flavours are soft and buttery, caramel, sweet with sulphur. Quite refreshing but very light in flavour. Merely average.
2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 undercurrent25 (562) - Barnton, Cheshire, ENGLAND - JUL 2, 2010
Nice appearance to the beer, very thick and creamy, yet lacling in any taste, not really a summer beer either, needs to be a bit lighter, this is more like a bog sytandard beer such as boddingtons
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 KyotoLefty (3762) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 19, 2010
Cask at City Arms, Manchester.
Blonde summer ale. Citrus, fruit (wheat?) nose. Citrus flavor with light hops. Light malt. A light summer ale that should have been tried before Summer Lightning! Refreshing, though mild in taste.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 dnas2 (705) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - AUG 4, 2009
Straw colour with a short head. Scent of vegetables, especially rhubarb. Quite thin and dry. Some cereals in there too. Sweet with lots of straw on the end but not much to it.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 hughie (3993) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2009
Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Gold with a small white head. Malt and hops in the aroma; thank goodness it’s not citric. Dry malty taste with some bitterness. Not your average golden, but not very exciting.

Cask at the Hand in Hand, Brighton, 16th July 09. Clear golden yellow with a white head. Tame aroma and flavour. Bit of an aftertaste but there are much better golden ales out there.

Making an early appearance for 2009 at the Sailibury Arms, Cambridge. Straw with a thin off-white head; grainy aroma; light body with some citrus flavours; clean citrus finish. Rather boring.

Cask At Montefiore Arms, Ramsgate: Ok’ish summer ale. Little bit too sweet and cloying but still quite refreshing. Did actually make me thirstier than before I started though.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Newshouse - Nottingham. A pale gold coloured beer with a white head and lacing. The aroma ihas hints of toffee and diacetyl. These come through in the taste also. Any hop note is very light. Quite dull and disappointing.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Maria (8589) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 8, 2007
Elgin, Scotland August 07 2005. Very light yellow with a nice head. The aroma has light notes of cheese and melon and the flavour is very mild, or rather thin-bodied. It has notes of melon and citrus. It’s uncomplicated, quenching - but a bit boring.
