Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Mahogany in colour with a small beige head. Aromas are coffee and liquorice with chocolate and earthy notes. Flavours are a light roast malt body with spritzy yeast. Peat with some light berry fruit. Quite fresh. A decent mild.

A Mes rate. Cask at Baker Street ’Sporks.
Bloody JDW. Yet another seemingly decent beer served badly. Chestnut coloured with a short lived bubbly beige head. Caramel and cooking apples with a far too bready base. Swift finish helps it not at all. Well done ’Sporks.

Cask in the alfread herring. Alround rating: Sweet roasty malt, fairly fruity with some blackberry notes, nicely balanced and easy drinking.

Dark brown pint at wetherspoons Newcastle. Mild sweet ale, with floral and honey flavours, malty and oaty, then a finish with some sour cherries. Nice.

Cask handpull at Samuel Peto, JDW, Folkestone. Black, with dark ruby hints, lasting beige head. This is a pretty decent fruity mild. Really good dark juicy fruits, some good dark malt on aroma. Really drinkable and great fruity mild. Awesome, I thought, as I finished the glass.

Cask - West Gate Inn (JDW), Canterbury. Dark chestnut brown with a fine, loose off-white head. Fruity, toffee apple aroma and caramel. More toffee apple on the palate with some roastiness. Quite a watery body with low bitterness and an almost immediate finish.
