As JWLees brewery enters its 175th year, Two Faced Janus looks back on our tremendous heritage and forward to an exciting and vibrant future. Brewed with modern hop varieties giving crisp citric fruitiness, Janus is the perfect pint with which to toast the new year.

Cask Handpump at the Golden Pheasant, Plumley 09/01/2003 Golden amber coloured and slightly sweet. Some bitterness in a dry finish.

Lagery pale gold pour with a faint haze. Densely creamy head and lacework aplenty. Gently sulphurous, grapefruit-hoppy nose. Milky smooth, flattish, citrussy and sourish. Lingering digestive-biscuit wheatiness and balancing bitter afters. Excellent summery sessions, ironically.

Draught Real Ale, Handpulled. Light brown beer. Aromatic lemony hop flavour with delicate malt flavours. Well balanced, great session ale, but not really a winter warmer.
