Pawola22 (36), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Jul 19, 2008 Not really what I was hoping for...light orange see through with a slight yeasty haze. Had a real watered down look to it. Smelled of wheat, malt, lemon, and a mellow spice...maybe corriander. Tasted of wheat, yeast, crispy citrus. Pretty malty, no hop taste at all which isn’t surprising for a hefe. Very light and partially chewy with no real lingering aftertaste. Overall it was nothing special, but it was better than having a shitty American lager on tap. I guess it was just a little too simple. yalnikim (630), Wellington, New Zealand Jul 15, 2008 Tasted 09/07/2008. 500ml bottle from New World Thorndon. Hazy pale yellow gold, creamy white head that doesn’t linger a long time. Nice banana esters, a little clove and wheat - fresher than I expceted. Good in the mouth, filling the mouth with lively carbonation and malt and banana ester sweetness but still slender enough to be drinkable. Mild phenols and wheaty mealiness bring me back for more. Certainly felt like another one at the end. Very simple but I think this is very much along the lines of the Weissbier I’ve been looking for. Very nice for a beer that has come this far.
Ober (214), Best, Netherlands Jul 13, 2008 A hazy yellow/orange colored beer, with a big white foamy head. The aroma of yeast, malty sweetness and fruity citrus. The taste of malt, wheat and banana’s. It’s a fresh fruity enjoyable beer for warm days. Suttree (2267), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 13, 2008 Cloudy orangey gold, with a thin white head. Biscuity, mildly citrusy aroma. Smooth, soft palate. Crisp citrus flavors mix with a mild herbal note. Spicy finsh. Becomes slightly more fruity as it warms. jredmond (585), New Jersey, USA Jul 12, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured a beautifully hazy body - didn’t really expect it from this rags bottle. One inch white head. Aroma is wheat and yeast. Flavor isn’t anything complex, however, its very refreshing, smooth with notes of wheat.
