Black amber with creamy tan head. Vaguely sweet smell is like a childhood memory of playing in a pile of new barley straw in the barn. Flavor matches aroma, but also is surprisingly light taste and feel for such a dark beer. No taste remains in your mouth, only in your mind. Very enjoyable.

Oct 6, 2008 Coloração preta, espuma bege (mais pra escura) densa, volumosa, mas que foi retraindo quase que totalmente, porém deixando marcas nas laterais da taça. Notas suaves de malte torrado e café. Quase não há amargor. Cerveja leve e agradável. Boa opção dentre as Schwarzbier.

Oct 6, 2008 12 oz. bottle on 10/6/2008. Dark, clear, ruby/brown body under a large, creamy, light tan head that settles to a persisting thin layer, and leaves some nice lace. Roasted malt aroma up front, undercurrent of light spicy and floral hops. Good balance of flavors between burned sugar, molasses, and a clean, refreshing, yet gentle, bitterness. Medium body and light carbonation, smooth, drinkable, clean palate. This is a good schwarzbier - balanced, clean, refreshing.

Oct 4, 2008 Solid dark beer here. I had this at a hotel in Fritzlar Germany and had it with a steak. Pours black with minimal head lacing. Tasted dry with some raosty malt.

Oct 2, 2008 Bottle: Pour is very dark brown/black with a medium lasting light tan head. Aroma is very roasted with strong notes of molasses as well as some brown sugar. Flavor is lot more roasted with a medium/light malt flavor along with some light cocoa finishing with some light buttery characters. Not a bad brew and is definitely easy to drink. Aroma is a bit over-powering but again, not bad. Pretty decent brew

Oct 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a big, but diminishing, greyish-beige head. Weak aroma; not a lot going on here. Some malty notes appear as it warms, but not a lot. Molasses. Flavour is slightly sweet with some dusty notes. Remote notes of yeast. Malt. Finish has more flavour; bitter and malty. Dry. Remote grassy notes as it warms. Overall pretty dull and inoffensive. 02-10-08.
