sebletitje (242), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 19, 2008 50cl bottle.
Blackish with beige head.
Aroma of light roasted caramel.
Taste roasted malts and caramel. Lightly hoppy. Found the beer to be too poor in taste with too much of a metallic taste. Quinten (709), zaandam, Netherlands Aug 13, 2008 At the drinkgut in Aachen Germany, Dark brow/black, thin cremé head, Full tasty black one with roasting hinds and fruits, some coffee and caramel, some smoke, a very nice one. NJJereme (116), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Aug 12, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark chocolate/almost black color with a thin tan head. Aroma and taste of malts with a nice coffee/dark chocolate/bitter finish. Drank and tasted like a hybrid between a lager and a porter. Very smooth on the palate. A nice, easy beer. Ethereal (869), London, Greater London, England Aug 10, 2008 500ml bottle at the Bricklayers Arms, 10th August 2008. Pours an opaque black with a magnolia head. Quite hoppy for a schwarzbier. Sweet and soft but not overly so, yet still lacking strong flavours. wyzzywyz22 (294), Wirral, Merseyside, England Aug 10, 2008 Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Poured a dark chocolate brown with a thick biege head. Looked the bizniz. Aroma was dark malt, chocolate, raisin and some hop. Flavour was similar.Surprised to find that the flavour was rather subdued and lacking any real punch. Maybe that’s indicative of this style ? which is new to me at this stage. Smooth and clean but a bit thin, and I was starting to get bored with this halfway through the glass.. .
