mybestfriend (241), Gothenburg, Sweden May 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours a black colour with a beige head. Aroma is quite thin - some roasted notes, chocolate and liquorice. Flavour has some chocolaty sweetness. There are also notes of liquorice and roasted notes. Very thin on the mid-palate. In the finish I get some chocolate, black pepper and almost no bitterness whatsoever.
cgreb (5), Marburg, Germany does not count Jul 22, 2008 bottle - very dark beer with a nice roasted malt aroma. Coffee flavor and not very hoppy. pojo41 (278), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA Jul 22, 2008 Draft. Served in a Shaker pint in a bar so, not much head. Nice clear very dark brown to almost black color. Aroma of dark roasted malt. Flavor of dark roasted malt with just a hint up upfront fruitiness. No real hop presence but, the bitterness balanced the maltiness. Medium mouthfeel to make this an easy drinking schwarzbier. I really enjoyed this. daknole (531), Plantation, Florida, USA Jul 21, 2008 I do believe this brew is underrated. Pours jet black with a nose of coffee and toasty malt. Flavor is roasty, coffee, some chocolate and very little hops. I like this one. Drink up!! maniac4016 (90), sky ute, Illinois, USA Jul 19, 2008 dark as night ,with roasted malt & java on nose. not as thick or bitter as it looks, finishes very clean & lomg Todeon (145), Höllviken, Sweden Jul 19, 2008 Bottle.
