Apr 9, 2007 (33cl bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a short off-white foamy head. Sweet, dark malty, roasty aroma with caramel and strong notes of alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, well-carbonated mf. Toast-malty taste with notes of caramel; sweet malty, minimal hoppy, moderately alcoholic finish. Uninspiring DB.

Mar 7, 2007 Bottle (perfectly delivered by joss !) Amber coloured, smaller quickly diminishing layer; roasted malt, alcohol and a touch of metal in the nose; medium-bodied, sweetish, slightly bitter flavour; fruity, a bit estery and malty finish. Rather disappointing Doppelbock......

Feb 1, 2007 Bottle. Red chestnut, champagne bubbles, fine creamy head. Bread with molassis aroma. Suragy, light burned base, somewhat papery malt, a fair bit of bittering hops, nutty retronasal. Relatively lightbodied.
