Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks Shmupi. Pours brown-black with a big tan head. Smell – fruits, caramel, prunes, roasted malt. Sweetish, fruity, grassy, roasted flavors, feels stale. Medium-bodied.

Pours dark brown with lots of tan head. Aroma is lots of roasted nuts and dark chocolate. Lots of bread and grain notes in the taste. Aftertaste is an interesting balance of grassy hops and roasted grains. Not super hoppy but a nice balanced complex beer.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines. A BIPA which is true to the style (probably). More of the dark roast notes, which muddy the hopping. Perhaps lacks a bit of power and arome, but certainly a nice drop.

Bottle from Ales by Mail. A deep dark brown almost black coloured beer with a healthy creamy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate, rye, slight bitterness. Decent Dutch black IPA.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. A hazy black-brown beer with a quickly disappearing very large head of dark tan foam. It has a rich chocolate, oak and whisky flavour followed by strong malt and coffee notes and a warming liquorice and smooth roasted bitter chocolate finish. Superb!
