Ruby/brown beer with a thin white head. Aroma is resinous caramel and malt. Flavour is bittersweet. The caramel’s there, the resin too and a slightly citrus-y fruit edge to it as well.A very light sourness to it as well. It’s not spectacular but it’s very nicely balanced and definitely too drinkable for the strength!

Bottle, pours amber with an off white head. Pine, flowers, resin, caramel, citrus. Moderate sweet, moderate high bitterness (spiking and easing off), oily mouthfeel, medium body and soft carbonation. Dry pine finish. Feels a bit like a dipa, but with less alcohol.

330ml bottle from Good Spirits Co. Dark reddish brown, good head. Resin hop aroma. Toffee malt flavour. Bitter aftertaste. More an amber than an IPA.

Sampled draft @ “Kaapse Brouwers 1st Anniversary Beer Festival”. Dark amber, little tanned head. Nose is bitter pine resin goo with light cough syrup. Taste is herbal, pine resin hops, oddly mixed with some brown sugar, candy & tad cough syrup, sweetish, herbal bitter on top. Malty body. Not really the right balance. Decent.

Bottle, gift from Pam. Clear amber/ruby body with a medium off-whtie head. Steady carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of caramel, toffee apple and kiwi fruit. Flavour of resin, blood orange, sweet malts and a bitter finish. Medium body with a very oily texture. Soft fizz. A really solid IPA - bold and bitter yet very drinkable.
