3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark amber with a large head.
Nose shows pine, grapefruit, nutty marris otter-like notes along with spicy and herbal hops.
Aggressive flavours. Main focus is on pine and grapefruit again. Not much malt presence which only makes the aggressive bitterness that much more abrasive.

Bottle thanks again to Mr Bird. Pours golden orange with a nice white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, wood, pine and a bit of Mary Jane. Flavours are nice mix of earthy spice, tropical fruits, grapefruit and some toffee. Nice carbonation and bitter finish. Good!

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Beer Cartel. Aroma: Bubblegum, apple juice, mango and citrus. And of course heavy malt. Golden with nice head. Taste very heavy on malt, thought it was a bit boring and onesided. Maybe could’ve done well with more aroma hops. Good for an australian beer though.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Best IPA in Australia. Ridiculously huge aroma. Huge pine and citrus with a lot of caramel to back it up.

Great wee ipa. May be a little one dimensional in some respects but really enjoyable. Big big pine with a sweet malt. I like this. It’s big piney and sickly at times. Not a session able beer but one to sip at.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Good looking darkish IPA with quite a large foamy head. Hops of nettle and sweet malt background, but not enough to counterbalance the massive hop presence. Huge hop bomb, what do you pair this with? ......would make a great batter though.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at the Catfish. Pours golden orange with a foamy white head. High carbonation. Aroma is resin and citrus with a big punch of pine. The carbonation is high, which suits well. Taste immediately showcases the resiny hop character with a load of pineapple and citrus. Somehow, there is a balance to the huge hop character. Just enough presence to prevent this from tasting like the malt is absent. Another great one from Kaiju

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught Embassy Hotel, Brisbane
Orange gold body, holds a dense white head.
Good nose; resiny, spicy, woody hops, some underlying toasty malt and caramels.
Full body without being overbearing, decent carbonation, lingering on the finish.
Offers plenty of hops on the body, particularly resiny, leafy as opposed to fruity. Malt takes backseat, some light biscuity character. Firm bitterness is apt.
Not too shabby.
