COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bastante dulzona. Entra bien.

0.5 pullo @ Freizeit Vienna. Kirkas punertavan tummanruskea. Tuoksussa makeaa mallasta, ruokosokeria, vienosti paahteista. Maussa makeaa mallasta, hiukan metallia ja humalaa. Miellyttävän makuista ja makeaa.

.5l chilled bottle poured into a mug in Austria. Pours brown and mostly opaque with a moderate light brown head with decent retention. Fairly well carbonated. Nose is sweet. Caramel or molasses. Body is medium, fairly smooth, and creamy. Taste is nice up front-- caramel, a little bread, some malts-- but gets way too sweet on the finish. Like drinking wort by the end. No wonder the abv is so low. They don’t bother to ferment the beer! Not for me.

Bottle at the Esterhazy restaurant in Vienna. Pours ruddy brown with a small beige head. Dark malt aroma. Med body, or nearly. Flavor is sweet dark malt, but there’s enough hop to make it work. Drinks nicer than expected for such a low ABV.

Tap and then bottle in Vienna. Old rating. Rather sweet caramel and chocolate, rich flavor, lightly roasty. A little more interesting and flavorful than most other Austrian dunkels I have had. It is far too sweet, though, and becomes cloying. From the bottle it is not as nice.

0.5l bottle. Dark ruby/brown body, light brown head. Nice grainy, roasty and caramelly aroma. The taste is Caramelly, grainy, roasty and a hint of floral hops in the finish. OK beer, but it is a bit too sweet for my taste.

Flasche 50cl.

A dark cola brown coloured beer with a frothy, but weak mocha coloured head. A roasted malt aroma of dark fruits, chocolate and coffee. Medium/dry mouthfeel. A dry roasted malt taste, nutty and coffee in the beginning, is followed by a sweet raisiny fruit flavour that brings along the chocolatey element. There is a hint of hoppy sourness later, but this is taken over in the finish by the malty sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
