Swing-top by 04.09.12, a gusher but I managed to catch all of it. Nose has some cracker and dog’s ass, wild grain and yeast - definitely a Zwickel. Gradient orange-golden body with a fizzy white head. Taste is sweet with layers of malt, has a bready, crackery resolution after the citrus has done its thing. Light body, a little hard and flat but refreshing and moreish.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of straw, leading to a lightly bitter finish.

Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, roasted, caramel, fruity, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20090321]

First of all, this beer is opened on the best before date, and it is properly stored, so it should be OK. But as the first aroma spreads as i open the swingtop – I know that this is going to be the worst infected beer I ever experienced – OH MY GOD, this is beyond terrible. I do not know for sure how a mixture of vomit, yeast and caramel would taste and smell, but they are the notes I find in both aroma and flavour. I do not know how I managed to taste it without vomiting, but I did. It is so terrible, that 0.5 seems a very high score. The color was dark amber and the head was weak – and if I find it again some day, I will give it another try.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep golden to light amber coloured, lively carbonation, stable and fluffy off-white head, sweet, clean pale malty (plus a faint touch of dark-malt) nose with nice floral hops around; solid sweet-bitter flavour, astonishingly "full" bodied for a beer of 4.5%; moderately lingering, bitter caramelly sweet finish. A pleasant and well balanced Bier....

(swing top bottle) Clear, bright amber colour with a big and dense off-white foamy head. Medium-sweet, slightly toasted malt aroma with a tinge of citrus and herbal, slightly woody hops. Moderately sweet flavour, light toasty fruity malty taste, light to medium bodied, although it has only 4.5% abv; smooth, pleasant mouthfeel; unfortunately it finishes a bit slim, sweet and slightly bitter with a light hoppy touch.
