chicagodri (442), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 19, 2008 On tap at Handlebar in Chicago. Pours a very dark brown with a tan head. Nice coffee and chocolate flavors. Goes down easy, I thought it was a solid Porter. Glad to see more Kalamazoo in Illinois. If I could only get Two Hearted....
hombrepalo (432), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2008 Tap @ Sheffields. Ver dark brown pour with beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma of chocolate, molasses and roasted malts. Taste is soft and subtle, an easy porter to drink, not too much carbonation. Chocolate dominates the palate and finishes with a rosty malty taste, quite good. NobleSquirrel (651), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 28, 2008 I believe that I had this at Cobra Lounge. They poured a Kalamazoo that was deep blackish brown. Taste was nice and roasty with some chocolate and coffee overtones. Nose was of a touch of smoke but mostly bitter malts and fresh hops. Very nice. Cornfield (4254), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Apr 29, 2008 Tap: Handsome pour, dark brown & nigh unto black body with a sustained beige head. Good lacework. The aroma seemed a bit faint but was okay - roasted malt, Nestle Quick, and a bit of cold coffee. That pretty well describes the flavor, although it had intensified from what the smell delivered. Not bad, but Bell’s really needs to get an IPA back into the Chicago area.

stoutchap (293), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 29, 2008 Dark brown pour with thin tan head, on tap at Lunar Brewing in Villa Park, IL. Faint trace of malts and coffee in the nose. Same on tongue. A bit of carbonation and middle of the road palate. Very decent porter.
