Gr0ve (1091), Oslo, Norway Jan 3, 2008 400 ml draught. Dark brown with a reddish hue. Tall creamy off-white head that clings to the glass. Roasted caramel aroma. Rich münchener malts. Very smooth. Some sweet malts, and a surprisingly low carbonation level. Nicely rounded. Nutty flavours. Nice Christmas beer. ogivlado (2336), Zagreb, Croatia Dec 10, 2007 On tap at the Kalfaret, Bergen.
Almost black coloured, minimal pale brown head, slight smoked nose. Mild roasted malt, chocolate and smoked taste with notes of fruits and spices. Quite good brew. Rune (1662), Tromsø, Norway Nov 21, 2007 400ml on tap at brew house in Bergen. Served at ambient drinking temperature and as the right companion to meat. Devil-black in colour with a rusty tint when hold up to the light. Brownish, low-level head. Smooth chocolate aroma with vague notes of cinnamon spiciness that also appear in the taste. Overall the flavours do not completely blossom out, but can be described as a blend of sweet, dark malts, ripe fruits and bitter hops with a note of yeast emerging towards the end. Well bodied, but may be a bit prematured (15.11.2007).
