frankenkitty (1873), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Mar 18, 2006 Ah... what better way to end St. Paddy’s Day than with an Irish N.A.? (I’ll need a few more of these to get my BAC down to my buddy Gene’s level... check yours <a href=http://www.ou.edu/oupd/bac.htm>here.)
Pours a bright whisky color with a white head that fades to a thin film. I used to work about a mile downwind of the <a href=http://www.encyclopedia.chicagohistory.org/pages/2628.html>Argo Corn Refinery in Summit, IL and the initial aroma of Kaliber brought back memories of chilly, damp mornings after the graveyard shift. So... roasty corn husks and additional corny by-products. Flavor is rather bland with malted notes, bitter edges and an overall sourness that hangs in the finish. Really not too bad, for what it is... anybody need a ride home?

Borup (1165), Albertslund, Denmark Jun 22, 2009 Can. Golden colour with no head. Aroma and flavour of malt and hops. Very watery. Arayaga2 (860), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 6, 2009 Sour, worty and disgusting in every way. It’s like drinking a molasses soda. RichJ7 (1134), Cullman, Alabama, USA Jun 6, 2009 Not too awfully bad, really. Gold in color with a tiny white head. Grassy malt aroma, short on hops. Flavor is much the same. Eh. Could’ve been worse for what it is. Slipstream (628), USA Jun 5, 2009 Dark pour and foamy head. Tangy, malty aroma. The flavor is, not surprisingly, bland and light, but has an enjoyably dry cereal taste. Not sure how they make this stuff - do they remove the alcohol somehow, or do they brew it in a way that prevents the alcohol from developing? But the real question is who would bother with this stuff? Alcoholics can’t drink it, because it contains a teeny bit of alcohol. Beer fans don’t want it. I saw that one woman gave it a high rating because she enjoyed it during her pregnancy. I remember cracking jokes with my friend Adele about how many cases of this stuff one would have to pound down in order to get a decent buzz. This is not really beer, but it could be a refreshing beverage to go with breakfast or a working lunch. It is perfectly drinkable, and tastes as good or better than most lite beers. Swalden28 (1257), McKinney, Texas, USA May 25, 2009 Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in Plano, TX. Pours a gold/copper color, off-white head. Aroma is grainy, some dark roast, also an odd tang. Flavor is exactly the same. Mouth feel is light-medium body with high carbonation. Overall, if I was going to give up beer, I would probably choose this to drink. Gypsy19 (465), Sacramento County, California, USA Apr 17, 2009 Pours a medium gold with a large growing head. Aroma is quite nutty, with also a lot of corn flake smell. Yes, good old corn flakes, pre-milk. Flavor is very corny and sweetish. Not bad, actually. This is probably the best non-alcoholic I’ve had thus far. Smooth, almost pleasant. Surprising. Fair overall. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Apr 6, 2009 Ratings 1000. I saved this for a very special occassion and I was not disappointed! I have finally completed all beer styles! Light goldenish yellow clear wit ha thin offwhite head. The nose is cardboard, corn, faint cooked up hops, cereal. Maple oatmeal? White raisins? Lightly herbal? Very light body with medium carbonation, I guess that’s called refreshing! Empty cooked cardboard and corn. Toasty astringency. This is pretty nasty, whats the point! Gr0ve (1298), Oslo, Norway Mar 30, 2009 330 ml bottle. Golden and crystal clear. Medium-sized white fluffy head that clings to the glass. Nutty aroma with hints of paper. Fizzy texture. Grainy malt flavours with a papery aftertaste. Finish is super dry, but soft. Rather watery, but I like the dry flavours. Not too bad.
