So I was at dinner with a few friends and the waiter was being extremely sarcastic (you know, the kind of dry arid sarcasm that dries you eyes out. No sweat, just humidity) and so, in return, I felt an obligation to return the favor. In deciding to buy a beer to complement my pizza, I asked the waiter for his expertise and he said the best beer they had to offer was this Kaliber N/A. I asked him what N/A stood for and he said he thought it had something to do with where it was brewed. So moments later he returned with a big demonic smile on his face. "No refunds" he smugly replied as I bitch about the reality of things- N/A surely doesnít stand for Nebraska. Beware, this beer is like drinking very watered down urine.

Bottle pour, at work. Big white head over golden body, decent lacing. Aromas malt, very faint citrus. Flavor light malt, minerals, almost no hops. Finish is slightly sour. Palate is thin, carbonation ok.

440ml can at alcohol-free Friday tasting. I can honestly say that this is, without a shadow of a doubt, the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Reviewed from notes verbatim on 10/7/10
A: Thin soapy film of white foam over a golden to amber ale with excellent clarity. No lacing.
S: Smells like orange pekoe and hints of tomato. Herbal, sweet, fruity. I like it.
T: Sweetened, soft white bread with a thin sheet of tomato paste over the top. A sweet beer. I like for an afternoon quencher.
M: Bubbly, light and falls over the tongue and burns the tongue a hint. Okay.
D: Nice Non-Alc. Best Iíve had.

Clear pale yellow with a thin head and carbonation. Has a very dreary cereal grain aroma and taste. Not good.

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle to glass. Lots of wet cereal and slight corn and vegetal. Moderate cardboard. Clear light gold with a nice white head of small bubbles that dissipates quickly. Taste of husky grain. Very thin mouthfeel as taste disappears in a hurry. Slight astringency in the back. Paper.

0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Pours a clear light copper body with a very thin fizzy white head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is sweet and very vegetal with some husky grain. The flavor is pretty bad, sweet and husky with lots of cooked corn and vegetal notes. I always wonder why there arenít any hops used in these NA beers, seems like it would be a way to mask some of these of notes. Lighter bodied with some lingering vegetal notes and fizzy forced carbonation. Canít imagine a situation where Iíd be willing to cut out real beer and drink this stuff. Reminds me of Goya Malta with less sweetness.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle shared at the Jolly Crispin during the RateBeer Black Country Bus Bash...I donít know why. Pours clear yellow with a tight, white cream head. Paper and cereal comprise the aroma. Medium sweet flavor with sugary white bread and pale grains. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Sugary cereal finish, some dough, corn flakes. Meh. It is what it is.

Con una apariencia muy similar a las lager, esta cerveza no me sabe a nada de nada. Algo amarga, muy carbonatada y refrescante.
