2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 6/20
345ml bottle Rating from 2005, drunken at the airport-bar in Nassau.
Gelb-gold in der Flasche. Recht süßlich, wie zu erwarten bei den 7%. Recht süffig, leicht getreidig. Enthält vermutlich Mais, so wie es schmeckt. Zum ende leicht herber.
Ok, aber auch nichts besonders Spannendes...

Its a decent caribbean beer but just average at the end of the day, good for hot summer days!

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
This is barely distinguishable from its pale lager cousin. One difference is the slightly more malty flavor, and the slightly thicker body. The additional alcohol is not especially noticeable. No off notes of fusel, or anything ike that.

The sour, astringent taste prevalent in Kalik Regular disappears in this surprisingly good malt liquor. It also has the added bonus of packing quite a punch. If you find the taste of regular Kalik as disagreeable as I do, give the Gold a try. Also, as a longtime visitor to the Bahamas where Kalik is brewed, the locals drink Heineken, not Kalik Regular. They tend to avoid the Gold too. Perhaps out of fear of incarceration.

Just like the regular kalik except stronger and not as astringent at the end. A summer beach beer

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle [345ml]. Pours a clear yellow-gold with a large semi-lasting fluffy white head. Sweet, boozy, vegetal and corny aroma, not pleasant by any means. Flavour: Ugh, that is not good. Sweet and boozy along with corn, grain and vegetal notes. Harsh finish. Average bodied. I’ve had better Malt Liquor for sure.

Noticeably stronger than the rest of the pale lagers, but not quite that traditional malt liquor flavor. okay.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Translucent gold with a creamy white head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation.
Aroma: notes of sulfur and skunk right off, that dissipate quickly. Sweet malt, with a touch of vinegar.
Taste: sweet pilsner malt, like a helles, followed by a corn oil finish. Not too bad for what it is, and some salty food ups the drinkability.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold body with a small fizzy white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is not the best, but it’s better than the regular and light versions of Kalik. Still a good bit of corn and a little wet paper, but there’s a little bready malt as well. The flavor is quite a bit heavier than the regular version, also a bit sweeter. Must have thrown in an extra bushel of corn into this bad boy. Not much noticeable alcohol, but it you can tell it’s a bit heftier than the regular. Medium bodied, a little clingy on the finish from the residual sweetness. Not exactly good, but a little better than the average Malt Liquor.
