COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To celebrate the 500th Anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ voyage of discovery, Kalik created this limited edition, extra-strength brew in 1992. While only a limited number of commemorative bottles were initially envisioned, Chalk Gold became so popular that it has been enjoyed year-round in the Bahamas ever since.

People go to the Bahamas for vacation but I, for one, cannot imagine wanting to be around people who brew beer such as this. This is a particularly poor example of a particulaarly poor style but I must admit that it is interesting because it is bad in slightly different ways than I’d typically expect. It tastes like coconuts and cardboard up front and is a bit sweet. The back end is like a mouthful of turf grass. It kind of reminds me of this time I accidentally ate a weed from my garden mixed in w/ lettuce, a taste that would be better described as dirty rather than earthy. I have a feeling this botle is ancient but I have no way of knowing. The label claims to have a best before date but all I see is some obscure cypher which I really don’t have time for in these troubled times. The beer is yellow orange and quite cloudy, the particulates likely being a product of oxidation which this shows in an extreme sense. It is kind of flat and heavy on the palate which really doesn’t make it any worse but certainly doesn’t imrpove things. This was great malt liquor and Bahamanian tick sent to me by Homer321. I am very happy to have tried it and similarly pleased that it is not terribly likely I will have to drink much of it ever again.

12oz shelfie via homer1232123. Thanks a TON, broseph. Pours GOLD with a small white head that fades quickly. Very filtered. Aromas of holy fuck DMS, cooked green beans, metal. Rotten corn. Taste is fucken horrific. Just unbelievably bad. Low carb. This actually tastes like it has meat in it. Which means, IT’S FUCKING AWESOME!!!
Love this trash. Fuck it and fuck you.

Clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is sweet corn and alcohol. It has a medium, slick body with average carbonation. The taste is very sweet.

Rotbox tick via homer321. Grazie ! Didn’t realize this was a malt liquor or I would have kept this for RBSG. Oh well. Kind of hazy, fairly bright yellow appearance with a white head. Birthday cake, bready/mild cardboard, a bit twangy aroma. Decent body. A touch juicy. Dull cardboard, bready flavor. Likely should be classified as a pale lager and not a very good one.

Bottle @ home, thanks to Sean! Bahamas tick AND malt liquor tick? Fucking a bro. Clear golden pour with a white head. This is terrible. Skunk, pennies, cardboard, apple juice, and water. Yum a dum dum. Bitter, papery, cardboard flavor. Tons of skunk, sulfur, and pennies. A lot of grass and grape. No thanks.

Bottle to duvel glass. Slightly fruity nose, like apples and kiwi. Very clear golden color. White head that does quickly. Very sweet up front with an almost candy like sensation. No significant skunk or booze. Just a little flat and sweet.

345ml bottle Rating from 2005, drunken at the airport-bar in Nassau.
Gelb-gold in der Flasche. Recht süßlich, wie zu erwarten bei den 7%. Recht süffig, leicht getreidig. Enthält vermutlich Mais, so wie es schmeckt. Zum ende leicht herber.
Ok, aber auch nichts besonders Spannendes...
