To celebrate the 500th Anniversary of Christopher Columbusí voyage of discovery, Kalik created this limited edition, extra-strength brew in 1992. While only a limited number of commemorative bottles were initially envisioned, Chalk Gold became so popular that it has been enjoyed year-round in the Bahamas ever since.

Poured from a 12oz bottle at miami airport islander bar. Golden with bubbles and white head. Refreshing yeast and grain aroma. Taste is burnt fruit and some malts. Average. Drinkable.

Bottle, golden pour in my snifter... Lol. Yes my snifter. Aroma is corn syrup and a old dusty hop. Flavor is stale hops, grain and corn. Yeah, drinkable And not totally vile but not really worth the time.

12oz bottle, well itís gold. 1 finger white head faded slowly. Smells like corn syrup and butterscotch with a touch of broken dreams. very malt forward, a lot of sweetness but thatís to be expected, some apple and peach but really flat on flavor after that. Tastes skunked.

Bottle at home. Pours clear dark gold with a medium, frothy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is sweet corn and Pils malt with light spicy hops. Flavor is sweet corn and Pils malt, light alcohol, light hops and medium bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

The stronger malty cousin of Kalik. I donít understand some of the excessively negative reviews; itís a malt liquor from the Caribbean. Good enough for what it is, just donít have too many if you donít have a reliable ride home from the beach.

Bottle. The look is clear, golden straw colored, and has a nice white head. The smell is boring, grain, floral, and ok. The taste is floral, grain, egh.

People go to the Bahamas for vacation but I, for one, cannot imagine wanting to be around people who brew beer such as this. This is a particularly poor example of a particulaarly poor style but I must admit that it is interesting because it is bad in slightly different ways than Iíd typically expect. It tastes like coconuts and cardboard up front and is a bit sweet. The back end is like a mouthful of turf grass. It kind of reminds me of this time I accidentally ate a weed from my garden mixed in w/ lettuce, a taste that would be better described as dirty rather than earthy. I have a feeling this botle is ancient but I have no way of knowing. The label claims to have a best before date but all I see is some obscure cypher which I really donít have time for in these troubled times. The beer is yellow orange and quite cloudy, the particulates likely being a product of oxidation which this shows in an extreme sense. It is kind of flat and heavy on the palate which really doesnít make it any worse but certainly doesnít imrpove things. This was great malt liquor and Bahamanian tick sent to me by Homer321. I am very happy to have tried it and similarly pleased that it is not terribly likely I will have to drink much of it ever again.

12oz shelfie via homer1232123. Thanks a TON, broseph. Pours GOLD with a small white head that fades quickly. Very filtered. Aromas of holy fuck DMS, cooked green beans, metal. Rotten corn. Taste is fucken horrific. Just unbelievably bad. Low carb. This actually tastes like it has meat in it. Which means, ITíS FUCKING AWESOME!!!
Love this trash. Fuck it and fuck you.
