Our tropical lager is the best selling beer in the Bahamas, with good reason. Since Kalik was launched in 1988, it has by recognized by the International Institute for Quality Selections with three consecutive Monde Section Gold Medals for Quality.

Bottle(s) in Nassau. Classic Bahamian beer. Little taste. Little of anything . . . but awfully good with an order of conch fritters under the bridge at Potters Cay. Love the one you’re with; Drink the beers you have in front of you . . .

Bottle, as Kalik Crisp. Very pale gold with a sudsy white head. Aroma is grainy with some cardboard, slight but definite hop notes of lemon and light spices. And the slight hop notes are there in the taste too, but that’s about it. There’s mild lollyish sweetness that’s a bit papery. Some bitterness at the end. The bottle claims there’s malt in this but you wonder. Poor for a pale lager.

Poured a crystal clear pale golden colour with a two-finger bright white foamy head that diminished slowly and laced OK. Carbonation high with medium to coarse bubbles. Aroma strongly of grain/corn and hints of light malt; no obvious hops. Taste is slightly sweet, bland and a bit salty; no real hops bitterness. Light body. Crisp, smooth, refreshing and sweet with a hint of tartness on the finish.

12oz bottle brought back from the Bahamas thanks to Timmy! Pours a clear golden yellow with a finger of foamy bright white head. I can smell the skunkiness as soon as I opened the bottle. All I get from the aroma is straight skunk. Probably the skunkiest beer I’ve ever had. Taste of sweet grain, bad lemons, and loads of skunk. Thanks for the rate Tim, but this is a total drain pour!

Even drinking this during a two week stint in the Bahamas doesn’t really make it drinkable.

Given to me by Maxbier. Didn’t bother pouring into glass, drank from the clear bottle. Color is yellow with some white foam. Light malt and skunky aroma. Flavor is pretty much the same. It’s an island beer. I could drink a lot of these if I was on an island but standing in 2 feet of snow is a different story.

Rated from old notes. A light bodied lager, one dimensional, lacking any nuance, or, for that matter, real taste. Decent with food. Since you’re in the Bahamas (who would import this) try it with some spicy jerked conch. The bottled version is better than the canned.

Bottiglia. Il dolce è medio a bilanciare l’amaro medio e l’aspro leggero. L’intensità gustativa è leggera e la persistenza gustativa è sufficiente. Il finale è astringente e semplice. Il retrogusto è veloce. L’aroma ricorda frumento, fieno e cereali.

Pours clear golden color, with a 2-finger white head. Grainy, grassy aroma. Maybe a little yeast. Body is light and mild, but I didn’t find it watery. Lightly dry finish. Flavor of corn mixed with a grassy note.
