A - Hazy golden-orange with a thin finger of off-white head. Fades fairly quickly. S - Sweet caramel and grainy malts, Bourbon, oak, vanilla, funky Brett, tart green fruits, Belgian yeast, some booze. T - Sweet grainy and caramel malts, tart green and stone fruits, Bourbon, oak, vanilla, funky Brett, Belgian yeast, some sourness and acidity, and some booze. M - Medium bodied with moderate-minus carbonation. Smooth with a tart, sour, and warming finish. D - Great wild ale. The balance of sourness and Bourbon barrel is very nice.

Aroma is interesting with some funky foot and cheese notes. There is also a touch of a nail polish aroma and a bit of a cough syrup note in the back. A touch of a barrel note as well. Pours a somewhat murky golden copper with a thin white head with pour retention. Flavor has a lot of acidity - lactic and a bit of acetic. Flavor has a bit of cheese, but is cleaner than the aroma. Some alcohol in the flavor and light bitterness. Low oak notes, but present. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation. Low astringency and medium high alcohol warmth. Overall this is a good beer, but not an amazing beer. The acidity could be a bit cleaner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2013 Bottle - thanks Mrhoppy for telling me about this gem. Shared at an IPA and sour tasting in Virginia. Pours Hazy amber brown, almost no head, little lacing. Aroma is funk, wood, lemon, light red wine. Flavor is much the same, smooth, light sweet, quite sour, bit of wine, some tannins, lactic acid. Medium body. Quite nice right now and will likely mellow with age.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2013 Calling all sour heads!!!! You gotta go get some of this........Ooops sorry there is none left. But I have some! Killer barrel then sour aroma. You know those beers you just can’t get your nose out of......This is one of them. Light bourbon barrel with dry apricot then full on sour. Orange amber color .A light sweetness that ties the barrel a sour together. Got it today at K&L Wines Redwood City directly from Bryan Brick before it was even put in the cooler. Tart barrel beer puttin’ a smile on my face. Wow! Rerate: I will have to back off a bit. ineedbeer was right there is a cheese aspect to this beer. Also there is a big Jack Daniels flavor. Dill pickle? It is very freaky though. Quite an experience.
