2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 herbjones (742) - Orange, California, USA - DEC 14, 2002
Straw yellow with a foamy white head. Lemon tartness to it. I didnt like it but my wife did.Last time I buy a beer to add to my country list.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Braudog (5060) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - DEC 2, 2002
Poured a cloudy yellow-orange with a poofy head. It has that sweet stank common among cheap third world beers. Smooth drink with little initial taste, but a flourish of malt and lite bittering at the finish. OK.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 ravidesai (940) - Bombay, INDIA - NOV 1, 2002
fizzy yellow beer.
standard lager character with a peppery and citric hop finish.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Ungstrup (26476) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 27, 2002
A light yellow beer with no head. It has an aroma as if it has been brewed on brewing cereal. The flavor is watery, not sweet but with a nice bitterness.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 VENOM (941) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 22, 2002
Hazy lemon yellow. Sticky, tight alabaster head. Light carbonation. Pils malt aroma, lemon peels, metallic notes and light sulfur. Sloppy, mushy flavor with lemony, herbal hop notes. Mild crispness. Wet paper maltiness amid wisps of sweetness. Medium light body. Again, not very clean. Abrasive with its fake lemon flavor. Kind of like the lemon juice you get in those plastic lemons at roadside seafood stands. Turns mellow and loses its crispness as it sits. Alcohol spiciness invades as well. Finishes crisper, herbal and slightly metallic, although this is a good thing.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Gusler (2653) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - SEP 9, 2002
Clear gold on the poor, a nice white head and decent lace. Nose is malt, the top is light, the finish is dry, lightly carbonated, lightly hopped, but then it is in that ’Lager Category’! Ranks #974 on my current 1000 master beer list.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 heykevin (1269) - Decorah, Iowa, USA - SEP 7, 2002
Decent malt quality but a little thin and hop flavor was a little poor.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Admiral (524) - Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 1, 2002
Not bad at all. Very much a Dortmunder, probably the legacy of the Hanseatic League or something. (although the Hansa ended centuries before lager of any kind existed...) Quite drinkable.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jaymobrown (1521) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 18, 2002
Clear yellow-ish color. Initial big head slowly receeds. Looks, smells, and tastes like an average pilsner. A little kick at the end - pepper, spice? Even though there’s nothing spectacular here, it is a clean beer, with no detractors but no real excitement either.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20 Drew (2413) - Kent, Ohio, USA - JUN 20, 2002
big head. unpleasantly bitter body - very thin, and very little malt to help it along. a krappness that’s allmost undescribable. worst of the week.
