Lager superiore, colore intenso e schiuma densa. Equilibrata e rinfrescante si lascia bere molto facilmente.

Dark golden body, big frothy white head. Some floral and grassy aromas with some caramel sweetness. Some bad aroma of muddy water. Taste is pretty food, balanced sweetness and very mild bitterness. Very soft body. Nice hops in aftertaste. Quite decent beer despite this bad aroma. Most probably would be better on tap (tried from can).

SilkTork (5412) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - JUL 24, 2015
400ml dark bottle from Polish supermarket in Southampton. Not sure how different this is to Kalnapilis Grand. The Grand is apparently 5.3%, and this is 5.4%. It’s a dirty looking beer. The taste is very watery with some fruit and a vague staleness. It’s drinkable, but not pleasant. Crude.

StueyD (1467) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2015
A mid golden amber coloured beer with a thick frothy white head. A light malty aroma, slightly syrupy, then a weak hoppy fruit aroma. Dry mouthfeel. The taste follows on from the aroma with a dry malty flavour followed by zesty, lemony hop flavour, both if which longer in a weak finish.

Thanks to erzengel! The beer pours a pale golden yellow with an off-white head. The smell is grain, mild fruit, grass. The taste is grain, cardboard, grass a bit dry and bitter on the end. Light in body with average carbonation.

Bottle from Rasputin’s, Ipswich. Pours a light gold colour with a decent sized white head. Aroma of corn, and floral hops. Light body and texture quite thin. Some bitterness to finish. Not especially grand.

500ml can, 5.4%. Clear dark amber, sparkling, decent foamy white head, full lacing. Aroma is spice - black pepper in particular, a little ash, some copper pipe. Body is medium, soft carbonation, a little foamy. Taste is bready malt with some toffee, some vegetable, bubblegum, soft bitterness. Alright.

ectuohy27 (762) - ESTONIA - NOV 24, 2014
Thought that the Grand Select was an alias for Lacplesis Ekstra (same abv/style adn virtually the same logo), but it is in fact different--the first is paler in color, with a more chalky and less grainy/grassy taste; some slight citrus notes; the latter is (if slightly) darker, less foamy, and with more distinct grainy, even nutty, flavors. The Lithuanians win again, if barely!
