In creating Kalnapilis Original, our brewers selected the finest Saaz hops. The beer has an especially rich and harmonious flavour while its foam is sturdy and long-lasting. Feel the unique flavour and aroma that seems like it is straight out of the keg.

Canned: Pale yellow coloured. Clear. Small quickly diminishing white head. Straw, grass and some sweet fruiytness in the nose. Flavour is bland and vague, Some sweetness and fruit and vague hops, which leads to a weak bitterness in the end. Thin bodied. Has some alcohol notes in the end, despite the low ABV.

Light golden, nice white head. Aroma from dough, hay and citrus, some dandelion. Malty honey flavor with some hops. Quite mild finish. Quite ok to be a lager.

Yellow clearly color, limpid and much bubbly. Compact and adherent foam. Light alcohol and malty scent, determined bitter. Pungent taste, warm and decidedly alcoholic and with bitter end. Light watery and top heavy.

Can. Pours golden, with a white head. Aroma is malty and hoppy. Taste is malty, hoppy, with a somewhat cardboardlike bitterness.

09.12.05 500ml bottle. Pale straw with pure white head of thinly spread marshmallow fluff, quickly fading to trace of lasting white film, sheeting lace. Aroma is quite oxidized, so is the flavor. Nonsense. This stuff is dry grass, cardboard, and something chemical and nasty. Lots of grossness and a damned persistent aftertaste and slick film of hate left all over the palate. Horrible. Congratulations, my first 0.5.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2006 Light yellow like color with an okey head. A bit bitter. A hint of sweet hops in this tasteless and not very ordinary thirstkiller.

Canned. Clear yellow appearance. Flower aroma. Bitter finish. Crisp and pleasant. A standard lager with no artificial tastes.

Golden-yellow with a fluffy, whipped-eggwhite head and teeny-tiny bits of particulate. Dry, floral & grassy aromas with baby powder, light doughy yeasts and an earthen note. Flavor was lightly sweet, crisp & "spritzy" (to borrow a word), but it was overall a mediocre offering. Lightly metallic afterwards. I wasn’t depressed before drinking this beer, but I was so after only a few sips. I guess you’d call that "disappointment".

For some reason, Charlie at the Tree had this and Kalnapilis’ malt liquor on hand, so he insisted I take a bottle of each. (?) On a previous visit, he’d given my girlfriend a decent bottle of wine. I guess we know who looks best.
This is a non-offensive drink. Little aroma, some grass & corn sweetness. Little color, a very pale yellow with a creamy white head. Not much flavor, which is good, because besides the light sweet malts and a smattering of earthy hops, some tinny corn syrup was creeping through. The finish is a light metallic bitterness. Non-offensive, but, so?
