Gold medalist at World Beer Cup in category 19, Münchner-Style Helles, 36 Entries.
In creating Kalnapilis Original, our brewers selected the finest Saaz hops. The beer has an especially rich and harmonious flavour while its foam is sturdy and long-lasting. Feel the unique flavour and aroma that seems like it is straight out of the keg.

Cheap 500ml bottle pours a pale yellow with lots of bubbles and a quickly receding white head. Not much to smell. Aroma is skunky with grass and corn: practically no hops or malts discernable. Tastes is slightly bitter with a mettalic finish. Body is thin, and mouthfeel is too lively. Excess carbonation makes me burp a lot. I enjoy cheap Baltic beers, but this one isn’t any better than the local pale lager I regularly buy in 36-packs at 40 cents per can.

Gassy, and with very little taste to it, with a texture akin to something similar to shampoo.

Tasted on 6/14/12 from a capped 500mL bottle purchased at Midtown. Pours a lightly hazy golden color with an average white head that slowly recedes to thin lace. The nose is sweet caramel malt with a corny aroma and a bit of fruity esters. The flavor is sweet and has that weird fruity thing, with corny malt and little else. The body is light with lively carbonation and a short corn malt finish. Perhaps this bottle is past it’s prime, but it is not very good.

Poured a very pale yellow color. Large white head. Aroma has pale malts with some lemon and apples. Slightly sweet. Lots of carbonation, some rice, some light fruity sweetness. Aftertaste is sweet.

Poured this cold with an average sized, foamy, off-white head that settles after a bit and some lace. Color is a clear yellow with lots of bubble trails. Aroma is beery, a little sweet and mild. Flavor isn’t so good - sweet, corn, lots of carbonic tang, almost no hop or malt. Body is a bit watery and carbonation is fizzy. Finish is dominated by the tang, is burpy, and a little sweet. Won’t finish the glass.

Pale golden colour with short white head. Aroma has fresh notes of malt, bread and a little bit of citrus.

Bottled, 500ml from Lithuanica, Birmingham. Pale straw with short white head. Thin, grainy, watery pale lager, supposed to be packed with Saaz, but not my bottle, mine had a slightly sweet, candy flavour rather than a sharpish lemon hint. Pretty poor to be honest.

Pours a hazy dark gold with a light ring head and bits of lace. It certainly isn’t a winner, but with light caramel malt and mild carbonation/ hop bittering in the finish, it is as good or better than many other "industrial" pale lagers. Not a keeper, but slug it down the next time you finish with the lawn, and you’ll like it enough.
